Ah, so that's where Kiritsugu picked up his smoking addiction! It even looks like the same cigarette brand that Touko (from Kara no Kyoukai) used. That's essentially the 2nd KnK credit ufotable has set into these Fate Zero flashback episodes, the first being a Cornelius Alba cameo last instalment. I imagine it's to be expected when you get the same animators to work on different projects that take place in the same universe. Anyhow, onto the installment!

Kiritsugu's mind has really transformed into steel here. He decided that murdering Natalia, his mother-figure, outweighs the possibility of a Ghoul outbreak spreading over New York. After letting Shirley live and witnessing the devastation of his village firsthand, there was no way for him to make that same mistake twice. Still, his breakdown after leads me to think that this wasn't the better option to make. It makes sense that such a man, so crushed by his ideals, could raise somebody like Shirou, who became totally humbled as well.

Next Fate Zero installment will be getting the story back on track with the rest of the Holy Grail War. Also, from what I can understand from the episode trailer, Kiritsugu is going to be using his first Command Spell, so it should be an interesting installment. With 4 teams left in the show and only sixepisodes to go, I am expecting a hefty amount of bloodshed to come.

In this installment of Accel World, we are finally given Kuroyukihime's situation and why she needs Haruyuki's help. Her goal is to attain level 10 in Brain Burst to meet the developer and discover his reasons for building the program. Regrettably, due to a betrayal in the past, Kuroyukihime now faces an in-game bounty over her head. She is hunted by somebody going by the name Cyan Pile using their school network. Haruyuki is tasked with investigating his best friend, Chiyu, who is suspected to be the culprit.

To find out if Chiyu has the Brain Burst program installed, Haru decided to use this opportunity to Neuro Link and apologise for the other day. Almost entirely focused on his investigation, Haru seemed to pay no attention to Chiyu's emotional break down. A 'backdoor' was discovered in her files at the end of the installment. It wasn't explained what a 'backdoor' means, but it surely contained a lot of files within it.

I trust I wasn't the only one who noticed all of the sexual innuendo going on over that bedroom scene. Things like Haru having to use the short cable while Taku has a "meter-long cable"  or not being able to find the hole. although, for a poor, chubby, socially awkward kid, Haru sure knows how to get all the ladies chasing after him.

As for the other acquaintance, Taku, there is a lot of secret encompassing his character. It's likely that he is a Burst Linker because  it can clarify his amazing real-life achievements. He might even be Cyan Pile because he also has access to the schools network. It will be interesting to understand how this secret will unfold later on.

It was a somewhat good installment of Accel World overall. A few things about Kuroyukihime and the leveling system were explainedand some Chiyu fan-service was thrown in as well.
