The realm made from different perceptions.

We are given our forms, given our roles...

And sometimes assignments need corrections.

Whatever matter of lifestyle you take,

Pride will protect it from being denied.

Whatever concept of self you may make,

Pride is the power that lets you decide.

Proud as I am now, and what I can be...

No one will refuse the Truth that is Me.”

“It is within our nature to create,

Just as our creators before us would.

Upon pristine coast we did congregate

And there, our sandy structures proudly stood.

A sudden museum built ‘pon the shore 

Witness you these sculptures by mortal hand,

Mermaids and Castles, Beasts, Dragons and more

Made material through naught more than sand.

As daylight wanes, we soon draw to an close.

Cheers of triumph at labor’s achievement!

Overnight, swallowed by sea: so it goes!

Light the bonfire in our bereavement!

Works wrought of earth and sweat, time shall abscond...

But the friendships forged will last far beyond.”

“A new monument stands for those just felled

Built to reject further threat of destruction.

This somber tomb, the memories held,

Grasps eternity through its construction.

Each visit adding to its great power,

This memory machine moves with heart’s thrum.

What testament to who would not cower,

Knowing their journey after soon shall come.

A full ocean of tears dries upon this spot.

The memory of a man, of an elf

Met once in passing, yet never forgot:

For you are now a part of This Unit’s Self. 

Fighting the endless Night for one more Day...

You shall always be remembered this way.”

“Among This Unit’s kind, yet to be seen:

A greater truth to hear and/or to say:

“When to start building your true dream machine?

The best time shall always be yesterday.”

Our Fortunes, constant theme of Tomorrow,

To seek them, to know them, to grasp hold tight.

Our Futures, which bring both joy and sorrow,

To greet them, defeat them, each day and night.

A simple dream we have, answer our call:

Join us tonight under the stars above.

Share us your inner light, come one and all:

Come together to dream, together to love.

More than dozens, a hundred lights I see.

My wordless response: crying gratefully.”

A curse that is a gift, our living form.

We process sorrow and we process bliss

in shadows so cold, in the light so warm.

The shape of ourselves, we’re given no choice

But to determine for ourselves its ultimate state.

Molding our muscles and honing our voice,

Armed with our will against shackles of fate.

Choose some to approve, others to condemn,

These gifts we’re given on the day we’re born.

Will you take them, or will you reject them?

Each action we take is a vow so sworn.

Whether flesh or earth, decay or machine

Harmony yet lies somewhere in between.”

Experiences myriad and new

Shifting priorities, so overdue.

Once defined by fighting tyrant’s regime.

Revolution, freedom, fought for and won.

Reintegration to society...

Easily said, but not easily done.

Daunting is this task, a difficult game:

Becoming oneself, again, and once more.

To move on, to change while staying the same.

Expanding one’s world, opening a door.

The Light shining from this community,

This Unit’s heart wields no immunity.”

Moments after exposing a weakness.

Against folded arms and a piercing stare,

This Unit falls swiftly into meekness. 

Obfuscating what one wishes to hide

With some soft humor and light sarcasm,

Disparity of views, a rift made wide:

Meters, now insurmountable chasm.

In our pursuits of a life made complete

You remain you, and too, I remain me.

Our minds, our souls, wherever our paths meet:

That’s where we find our true reality.

I confront the past that scars me deeper

So that This Beacon can face her Keeper.”
