The location and size are what makes me most sceptical of it being one. It was found in a classroom in Melbourne, Florida, and very small (around 12 millimeters I think?)
Hello! It is definitely not a red-headed mouse spider - that's only found in Australia. Location is a super important part of IDing and it's why I always ask for a location for submissions. Your friend is a ground spider in the family Gnophosidae, probably Gnaphosa sericata, which as far as I know, has no common name.
