My parents always told me you were not real. I kinda wish I had grown up with the mystery of it all. Good luck on your expedition to make every child happy. It’s... admirable, to be honest. 

I… honestly don’t even really know how to start putting into words how I feel about you… how thankful I am to have you in my life… how lucky I am to have run into you in the street those months ago. I’m going to try though. 

Every second of every day, you’re on my mind. It’s hard to have you living far away now, especially with no determined date of return, but despite this distance, you make me feel like your right here with me. And I don’t just mean because you visit a lot, and I also visit a lot. I mean because… of how you speak to me, how you make me feel when we talk? It always feels like I’m talking to my best friend, but then again.. of course it does. You are! I’m rambling. Will try to stay on track, but still. 

I am finally understanding that, yes, you are different than the others. And I think the first element of that is that  you are my best friend. We were best friends first. We had fallen in friend love first, if that makes any sense. And granted it was a lot easier for me to fall for you, maybe because I’m clumsy and a little naive despite how hurt I’ve been, but still you… fell back. I’m amazed honestly. Every day I am. But yes, you are different. The best kind of different. The amazing kind of different. You’re like the one yellow tulip in a field of only red ones, and I love that. 

I wanted to also take this opportunity to say that I love when we are cheesy. I promise, like actually promise promise, to say the corny pick up line to you the next time I think of one spontaneously. I feel like I owe it to you, even if they’re stupid, because of the times I make the stupid metaphors about my pain and suffering and yo just… bounce right back with a similar comparison you know? Like when I said that I feel like a pile of crumbling pieces, and you said you would be my dustpan… And when I said I felt like a broken cup glued back together and you said you would always be there to glue back the pieces… I love that… I love how I feel with you, and I love that I seem to make you happy too. I can see that you’re changing a bit with us together, but as opposed to being negative, it just seems like you are opening up more to me. 

I’m rambling again. See I can hardly manage my thoughts about you. Just a jumble of happiness that I can’t seem to put to words. Well I sound like an idiot, but I’m an idiot in love with you…
