Grivinia, Goddess of Earth and Riches
Grivinia is the most primal of the Dwarven gods. While she maintains for overall shape of a female dwarf in her prime, her body is carved marble, with moss and lichen clinging to her head, falling in a cascade of green, and her clothes are delicately woven roots, mushrooms, and flowers. Her eye flicker through varying shades of gemstones, shifting with her mood and the subject at hand. Her symbol is a mushroom in profile, with countless roots reaching out to connect all living things in the great cycle.
Oftentimes, she appears riding a giant mole or purple worm, the massive beasts carving tunnels for her passage, leaving behind rich earth that can be used to grow various crops. She carries no weapon or ornamentation, for her own strength is enough to deal with any threat that dares stand against her.
Grivinia is a Goddess of the Earth, the matron of mining, farming, and hunting. All things to do with the natural world fall under her domain, be it the gems buried deep beneath the surface, the wild growth of forage, or the animals the dwell both below and aboveground.
Despite being the mother figure of the Dwarven Pantheon, Grivinia remains a distant deity, letting her people and the world they live in proceed as they will. She is a wild goddess who is not caged by civilization nor expectations. Her people may grow in whatever manner they desire, as all life does. Despite her primal nature, she abhors evil for the sake of evil, and any systematic plan to inflict pain and cruelty is abhorred. Oftentimes, wars are brought to a brutal end when she is incensed, her fury causing earthquakes and cave ins to seal off supply lines, or even bury armies underneath mountains of rock. Her own people are not immune to this, as an entire dwarven kingdom was obliterated by a volcanic eruption when they sought to slaughter a nearby human settlement for daring to intrude on their perceived territory.
Grivinia has no friends, for she is of the wild. However, there are certain deities who command her respect. All of the chief gods of the various pantheons are worthy of this respect, no matter her persona feelings towards them. Of the other gods, she most commonly associates with Kebduma, the patron of druids, as their domains and standing is so similar. She will speak with other nature oriented deities, but often acts in a patronizing manner to them. She disdains Naras-Khal, god of the undead, for perverting the natural order of things, but keeps these feelings banked, as the Deity of the Dead is free to walk a path of their own choosing.
Grivinia has few clerics or organized rites. Most of her dedicated worshippers tend to be druids, in keeping with her associations with nature. Her rituals tend to be small scale, simple acts that can be practiced through the day. A simple prayer uttered while tending to a farm, or a simple request for a blessing before a hunt are the most common, though in keeping with her wild nature, her favored prayers are those created by individuals for their own use.
