Today’s shout out goes to @jozmakesquilts ! One glorious day, she posted on her IG story about spray basting (which I had never heard about before,) and about how she machine binds her quilts! First, spray basting was AMAZING. I first tried it on a quilt that I was doing a lot of free motion, and it was so nice! No worrying about pins! Amazing. Then machine binding. I like machine binding. I actually like the look of the little lip of binding on the back of the quilt. But it always moved, or was too much. I even would sometimes hand stitch to put it in place (very big, like 1 inch stitches,) but it still would move sometimes. And corners were a PAIN! And Joz showed how she used glue and her iron to heat set it in place, then stitched in the ditch. I. Was. In. Shock. Best thing I’ve ever done. Amazing. I want to continue to finish quilts just so I can do more binding like that! I’m in love. And I thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. ❤️ . . . #quilting #basting #spraybasting #binding #gluebinding #shoutout #alsoyesikneedtowashthisagainbecausethereisstillgluebutidontevencareimsoinlove https://www.instagram.com/p/CCXhOTzh0GY/?igshid=1j2b5z72sxsni
