Via Flickr: I took this shot back in September when I went up to the Praying hands for the first time. This is taken only 60 yards away from the praying hands and in a way I prefer the angle you get down the Glen from here. It's a subtle difference I know... arguably the praying hands offers a more interesting foreground subject... but in a way they are so strong it unbalances the image and all you notice is the foreground.

Glen Lyon by Captures.in.time Via Flickr: It looked like it was going to be a stunning sunrise this morning so I headed up to Glen Lyon and the Praying hands... A location I've wanted to shoot for a while. I was able to negotiate a few hrs to myself with my boss as I have worked long hours recently. I headed off at 4am as I had an hrs drive from Perth where I was staying in the travel lodge. Walked the 45min from the car park to the location. It was amazing although the sun rise was not as dramatic as I'd hoped based on the forecast. But there was nice clouds which did make for an interesting sky. This is two images blended together as the image had quite a high dynamic range and a graduated filter would not work because of the rock sticking up. I took the lightweight M6 kit as was not sure how severe the hike would be and just wanted to travel light!
