It's labour day in most countries in Europe and while we usually go out and do BBQ or two, this year we have to stay inside, but that can't stop us from celebrating with a really nice scotch! 😉. . I've got the mini and maxi bottle of the 8yo Glendronach The Hielan' paired with a little stick from Vegueros Entretiempos, very good value for money 😉👌🏻💨🥃. . The Hielan ’, the single malt whisky that pays tribute to the Doric dialect spoken around the distillery in the Highlands, displays the complexity and expressiveness of its character in front of the whole world, regardless of the taster's mother tongue. The expression is aged in the best bourbon and sherry barrels for 8 years, it's not chill filtered and presents itself in the glass with a 100% natural color. What highlights this whisky is precisely the extraordinary mixture of sweet aromas, spices and buttery notes that it offers. . Here is my review:. . Nose: Rich notes of malt, vanilla pudding, raisins and lemon peel, sprinkled with a drop of cinnamon. . Nose: Strong spicy accents, which reveal ample aromas of vanilla, almond, apricot jam and raisins. . Finish: Long, with sherry influences. . Color: Amber. .
