I got to play the good doctor, Glendon Lorne! Sadly this is the only pic of them that I have.
30 Days of Character Development, Day 7Â
 << Day 6 | Original Post | Day 8 >>
I lapsed a bit on this! Okay, I lapsed a lot on this... Whimsical, as a concept, has been scrapped and is in the process of a re-write. Henceforth, these entries will just be for the good Doctor.
Dr. Glendon Lorne is a relatively new character of mine at @epochlarp, and I am greatly enjoying the chance of pace that they offer from my main character.
I will try to not give too much away, as lots of the backstory stuff is very juicy and has the potential for very cool character interaction and expose! I welcome you to follow along, and to tag me in your own 30 day challenge!Â
7.) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
Yes, very much so yes. They would redact having ever become a Mistweaver in the first place, and while they likely would have disappointed both of their mothers, ultimately it would have resulted in their not being sent to the Arboretum.Â
In the Epoch mythos, Elves must observe a strict geas-like Code that has been imprinted within them by their creator-deity, Faery. One component is that an Elf is not permitted to cause lasting physical harm to another Elf without recourse.Â
An error of good intentions on Glendon’s part resulted in a grave oversight on the Mistweaving project that they and their mothers (among other Weavers) were working on. This mishap led to the deaths of many Elves, and a need for scapegoats. The Mistweavers who were in charge of the project were sentenced to carry out their punishment in this sect of Elves’ equivalent of prison: the Arboretum. After all, they will be dutifully tended and maintained, and unlikely to come to lasting physical harm under the Adjudicator’s care...
If Glendon could erase anything from the past, it would be their initial folly, for they know now that it was their doing (or lack thereof) that caused the Unravelling.Â
