Sneak Peek - Chapter 25
The wind blewed and the leaves rustled in answer. The trunk of the tree manifested a bare foot.
A slender leg followed till a woman manifested from the oak tree.
I choked at the sight, “Wha–”
The elder called Maiara smiled warmly at me, “Hello, my child.” She glided over to me, her long white skirt swishing at her ankles, her bare feet peeking with every step. She stood a foot before me and she looked over me like a mother would over a child, I instantly felt warm and safe. “Meredith Tesifa Pierce, my goodness, you are just as beautiful as your heart.”
My cheeks warmed, “Ah, th–thanks.” I mumbled. I scrunched my brows, wondering how she knew my name. “How did you–” I stopped. “Right. Trees sees and hears everything.”
Maiara let out a warm laugh. She then bopped me on my nose. “You’re learning quick, my child.”

Sneak Peek - Chapter 24
“My name is I don’t trust you,” Bodhi narrowed her eyes, “How do you know, Red?”
“Lovely name, it suits you.” He said dryly. “And Red?” He glanced at me and tilted his head like a mischievous feline. “Meredith… Redith… Red. I like that.”
I ordered, “Answer her,” My nerves were fried and I wanted answers.
His [Obsidian] eyes snapped to mine, liting up with something. “My, my, Red… aren’t you a fiery one?”
My jaw clenched at the way he kept using my name. I stay silent and waited.
He lifted his ax–Bodhi raised her daggers–and he grunted, “Damn, that bastard dirtied my blade.” He sighed as he strolled to the fallen log to sit. He took out a towel and began cleaning his ax as if there wasn’t a mer standing in front of him who was intent on killing him. My forehead wrinkled. He was not threatened by us and he didn’t give a damn that Bodhi was posing at him with daggers. He was either cocky or just plain stupid. He glanced up, “Well, Red and I don’t trust you, take a seat. I’m sure all that fighting has left you tired.” He continued cleaning his blade and he began to hum. Humming. This bastard was humming. Who the hell is he?
Chapter 20 - Sneak Peek
“Ok, then. Well,” Bodhi gestured to herself. “This is currently a glamour.”
I pulled over with a screech and did a sharp turn into a gas station. I stomped on the brakes – Bodhi squealed at the impact – and put my truck in park. I turned to Bodhi with raised brows. “What?”
SURPRISE! 🎉
