So, I watched some interviews and I don't think I have picked my chin off the floor yet. Maybe it's because I usually watch interviews with BL actors, but I have never seen any Thai actor/ actress talk as openly about their love life, sexual preferences etc, She really doesn't hold back. Even in her Q&A lives, she answers questions that would make the actors I've watched so far blush. I do not mind it and I don't think it's a bad thing or anything, but I've just never seen it.

At the same time, she makes it clear, that she doesn't want dick pics, how disgusting she finds them etc. How weird openly sexual comments are.

I think she is incredibly beautiful, I really like her, but personal impression after these interviews: This is not a person you want to mess with, she will not remain polite and smile when she dislikes something and she will probably eat alive anyone and walk all over them who doesn't stand up for themselves. In the same way she is protective about those she loves and herself. She is also really kind hearted and very very polite when need be.

I kind of wonder how Thai media and society/ fans see her. To me as an outsider judging by these interviews, she doesn't fit the mould of GL actresses who blush cutely and smile. Not at all.

You see me both impressed and surprised in this post. I rarely am these days in BL/GL world, but she did it :D

Although there are many factors involved. I'd like to think and believe that BL and GL series played a significant role in normalising and showing just how beautiful same sex relationships can be. Also, it cannot be a coincidence that these two asian countries that moved towards this step happen to be two of the biggest producers of BL and GL series.

Taiwan was the first asian country to legalise same sex marriage on 24th May 2019.

While this is mainly a BL blog and I haven't got around to watching any GL shows yet, I've read a couple of GL or lesbian romance novels.

Some of them would be great being made into series or movies, one is actually a lot better as a series.

So, since many are enjoying GL series, I thought I'd give some recs of books I've enjoyed.

I'll start with the movie that's better than the book going with it. It's called "I can't think straight". I just really like it. It's diverse, it's fun, it's romantic and it has a happy ending, which- let's face it, for a looooong time most Lesbian or Gay movies didn't have.

But now on to the books:

5. Bring Holly Home - A.E. Radley

It was written as a "Devil wears prada" fanfiction and then turned into a novel. The premiss is that after firing Holly, Victoria finds out a year later that her former assistant got injured and suffers from amnesia. Because Victoria feels guilty, she brings Holly home and takes her in. things change, but Victoria knows that the day might come when Holly will remember.

This is the one I could go on and on. I bought it, then had it on the shelf for probably a year and didn't touch it because of the depressing setting and cover. And then one day I started reading and I could not put that book down. I read it once, then again and a third time. The writing itself is not beautiful or poetic, but the feelings and the psychology behind it is amazing. Tipp: Don't read the last part of the last chapter!

Warmhearted teacher Laura takes on the job of the headmistress at a women's prison school. She gets long with everyone except one teacher called Toni, who is brilliant in class and with students, but otherwise weird and rude. When Toni's apartment gets damaged, Laura takes her in and slowly Toni opens up about her privileged past and traumatic events she endured. Oh yeah, and they also fall in love, which is equally as hard because Toni is very much traumatised and can't let anyone touch her.

Neo recently hosted a gmmtv show with the actresses of the GL show 23.5, Love and Milk as guests.

Neo being Neo was as unprepared as he was when he did the same thing with the Cherry Magic cast. He also made his usual comments that are meant to be funny, are always chaotic and more often than not teasing.

This time the combination of it all merely made for him being an unprofessional and probably even rude host, depending on how well the two ladies know him and if they get the jokes.

Basically Neo was being Neo. What we loved in shows like safehouse when he drove Jimmy crazy, isn't as charming when he is supposed to be a host.

As he has already apologised to the actresses, this should be the end of the story while someone at gmmtv should decide if Neo is the right host for a show like this, when he never does his homework and has no idea what the shows are about.

What I find interesting is that while no one seemed to care about Neo being Neo with Tay and New, leaving Tay to save his ass constantly, now that it's two women his behaviour sparks outrage. Rude is rude, unprofessional is unprofessional - both are genderless.

However, this is the BL/GL fandom, so of course people are losing it BAD

Neo messed up by being Neo. What flies on one show where he is paid to be himself, isn't as funny when he is supposed to host, be prepared and make it about his guests. It was unprofessional, he apologised. The end.
