Update
It was very touch and go last night, all Pickles could do was just lie there. We were all super emotional. Had a rough nights sleep and came down this morning fearing he'd got worse, but he'd ripped the bandage off his ear, groomed all the liquid feed off himself and was tucking into kale and hay! Since then he's been on and off munching, had a few poops(!) And also hoovered up some water soaked dandilion leaves!

Pickles.
As I type this, my eyes are streaming with tears. My beautiful Pickle-bunny is very sick. He has a severe case of stasis which I discovered yesterday after he only ate one dandilion leaf. The vet thinks it was due to his poor start in life and the diet of toast his previous family gave him which have since caused a very sensitive tummy. Since then, he’s been to the vets twice, once for metacam and gut injections, and again today for 8 hours of fluids via a catheter in his ear. They’ve been syringing him recovery food, and now he’s lying under a blanket on my kitchen floor. He hasn’t moved for 2 hours, and is refusing all liquid food and medicine i attempt to syringe.
I’m so worried. I haven’t stopped crying since I got home.
‼️ Friends, I ask that you please read: These past few days my beloved Dexter has been very ill. I believe he has GI stasis (a deadly condition involving an unresponsive digestive system). He is currently on 4 medications 3 of which are administered 2x/day to encourage him to eat/use his litter box. It has been 4 days + he is still not eating/acting normal. He is being syringe fed baby food + water. To be honest I’m surprised, but very happy he is still alive given it’s been more than a day. If you are familiar w/ rabbits you know just how dangerous GI stasis is as it is commonly known as a Silent Killer. He has been taken to the vet but we may be making another trip back if his symptoms don’t improve. This post is not only to raise awareness of GI stasis in rabbits, but also to kindly ask for any donations possible to help with Dex’s vet bill. Even if you can only spare $1 it would mean very much to us seeing as we could use any help we can get for expenses. Current cost for his treatment is $225. I’ve never asked for donations, but I’m hoping to raise at least half of the cost. Regardless I’m going to give him all the attention he needs because I cannot bear to lose him like I did Bandit.
