Scent Related Headcanons (Accepting!)

“Green.” She seemed finished speaking before remembering not everyone smelled colors. “Oh, uh…‘green’-scented thin’s’re usually…calmin’, t’me. As such, people ah care fer usually smell sligh’ly green.

“Charli smelled like…like an earthy green. ‘Erbs, dirt, iron from ‘er cauldron, soot from ‘er fire. She smelled like ‘ome.” Gin touched the vine wrapping around her left arm as she spoke, eyes gazing into the middle distance.

“You -” she shook herself back to present, pausing to inhale Thane’s scent, eyes closing - “smell like an emerald green t’me. Sword oil, metallic from th’armor y’wear, Ligh’ magics tha’ cling t’ya. Y’also smell like ‘ome t’me.”

Love asks (accepting!)

Gin stops and thinks for a bit, brow furrowed. “From rejection? No’ really. ‘Cept when ah wus a teenager workin’ in th’Manor. An’ ah yelled at Lorna Crowley ‘at she wus cute. An’ then volunteered fer kitchen duty so ah didn’ hafta see ‘er fer three months.” Her eyes gazed off into the middle distance. “Years later, Darius bloody Crowley tells me ‘at she kept askin’ t’go back fer th’same three months. Wot coulda been, aye?”

A soft chuckle left the woman’s lips before she continued. “Did ‘ave m’eart ripped from m’chest when m’wife - Charli - died while we were tryna escape Gilneas, though. Diff’rent kinda ‘eartbreak, bu’…” her voice trailed off, looking down at the rose tattoo on her left arm. “Don’ think ah’ll ever truly recover from tha’, ‘f we’re ‘onest.”

“I love you.”

The scent of various herbs and flowers, a flash of bright auburn, sea green eyes.

“I love you.”

Laughter.  Bright and bubbly.

“Ah love y’too.  Promise y’won’ leave me, Charli?”
