MY 8 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN EPISODE 44 (manga chaps 67, 68 and 69):

1) The ninja squad’s reaction to Zura’s failure at stealing porn.

2) Not in the manga: Gintoki just had his toe up some dude’s naked butthole, his toe is clearly soiled, WHY WAS HE SMELLING IT??? Gin-chan is so fucking weird sometimes.

3) Poor Elizabethsu! 

4) This elaborate obstacle course was not in the manga...there was a version of an obstacle course in the chapter but it was relatively simple...like Indiana Jones level only...and Gintoki and Zura were the ones setting off the traps while the others just watched them. Loved this change in the anime.

5) The Shinobi Five...not as cool as the Ninja Squad Five but they tried.

6) The result of their face off was utterly disgusting and hilarious.

7) Either way, loved that Zura was being very supportive with his Lamaze techniques.

8) I felt really bad for Zenzou. That had to require a hospital stay.

SHIPS TALLY:

Zura x Elizabeth: their whole mission was due to his love for Elizabeth...even if it didn’t turn out to be Elizabeth.

Gintoki x Zenzou: their whole convo was super shippy and Zenzou was acting like a lover scorned and forgotten.

Kagura x Zura: their concern for each other was evident throughout the episode.

Zenzou x Sacchan: I kinda got an excitement chill from the way he greeted Sacchan. His voice actually dropped lower, all sexy like.

Gintoki x Sacchan: basically if they’re in a scene together and Sacchan is reacting to Gintoki, I will count them cuz that is just the right thing to do for Sacchan’s sake.

Gintoki x Zura: because Gintoki called him “Zura-kun”. That was adorable.

Sacchan x Wakikaoru: things could’ve turned easily turned hot and sexy...that’s what porn has taught me.

Gintoki x Some Rando: I don’t really want to talk about it other than to say in the manga, Gin-chan only kicked his ass. Obviously that wasn’t enough for the anime team.

Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just completely unbelievably amazing.  It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s immense generosity that I am able enjoy Gintama on an extra another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.
