The darkness had embraced the streets of Riverdale, leaving the citizens peaceful and calm because it seemed as if the town was asleep for the night and along with it, all of the things that could go wrong. Correction. The darkness had embraced it long ago, however, it was a different kind of darkness โ one that made most of them rotten on the inside. What Jughead was focusing on was the absence of daylight and how late it was. The two boys, the one that was too lucky to call Riverdaleโs very own Captain America his best friend and the one who was perhaps unfortunate to be paired with a weirdo. Now, when they were neighbours it seemed as if Jughead could see the otherโs unease through his curtains. Stonewall didnโt only affect his relationship with Betty, it affected his relationship with Archie and he regretted that.
Both of them were on a battlefield tonight even though it seemed as if they were peacefully lying in bed. Their internal battles were never-ending. There was a time where Jughead blamed Archie for abandoning him, out of spite because he was the only person he could call a friend. It seemed as if he did the same now, he was too lost in his own problems to focus on the absence of Fred and how deeply it affected both Archieโs present and future. Maybe being kicked out of Stonewall was a good thing, he had the time to focus on more important things now and finally check on his neighbor and his best friend.
Without hesitation, Jughead put on his Serpent jacket and walked out of the door, t was so much easier to get to Archieโs home now. So much easier and yet it felt as if he hasnโt the place in years. I was a second home, where he found a second family in the warm eyes of the Andrews men. His fist met the door, a gentle knock. Three times. He was sure that Archie would recognize him. It had to be special โ there were many evils in Riverdale and Jughead knew that Archie didnโt want to invite more of them inside of his house. And Jughead waited there, hoping it was not too late for him to apologize for his negligence.
