A tragic love story, of two best friends growing up together, with a special bond. Beetleshine and Gingerflight were always nervous to admit that they really liked the other. But they always found a reason to hold back. What if the other didn't want to be friends with them anymore if the other rejected? This lead to Beetleshine falling in live with another cat, Ferretwhisker, who became controlling and mean over the tom. Gingerflight happened to realize this, and she publicly humiliated Ferretwhisker for her shitty actions, and took Beetleshine with her. The two soon became mates (much to the dislike of Ferretwhisker) and eventually Gingerflight became pregnant. The two were estatic, and were constantly talking about names. But then, Gingerflight became sick. When she delivered Splinterkit, she died from her mysterious illness and bloodloss. A grief stricken Beetleshine tried hard to raise his daughter, but she was a splitting image of Gingerflight, a constant reminder of the cat he loved. Heartbroken, he gave Splinterpaw to a now nursing queen, Ferretwhisker, who raised Splinterkit along side her children. Beetleshine usually watched his daughter as she grew, and he grew jealous of the relationship that she had with her adopted father Mitebreeze, but he knew it was for the best. The fire that raged through the camp nearly killed Beetleshine, and it took the life of Mitebreeze. Beetleshine soon realized that he wanted to be in Splinterpaws life, but it was far too late. Splinterpaw hated him, and it didn't help that a still salty Ferretwhisker fed her lies about her real father...
