Once again, Ginger Bitch with a moronic take, this time about Enid and how the show would be nothing/bones without her. And no, โจBaileeโจ, it's not just Wylers and Waviers...I have a strong dislike for all of Enid's likes and find her as annoying as NC/Wednesday does. (And she does. She thinks that Enid's like nails on a chalkboard, and the Wenclairs twisted Myers's eyeroll into something it wasn't...see: That Stupid Anti-Norminal Propaganda video they put out.)
While only true to the extent that Millar & Gough wrote this to be a journey towards friendship for Wednesday (and she would need that one friend), we can do without Enid as she is (which is little more than a rainbow soup of various simplistic sidekick tropes). If they had written off Enid at the end of Season 1, it would've been fine since Enid achieved her goal of wolfing out (with the added benefit of teaching Wednesday about friendship). (In fact if this show had bombed and didn't get picked up for a second, Enid's story would have had its closure. We wouldn't have had any closure on the stalker thing, but shit happens when one season shows aren't picked up.) Hell, they could've ended Enid's story at the end of S1 and shifted the focus to Bianca, since her story hadn't really received much closure/is only just beginning, and she and Wednesday would have their own friendship/partnership/situationship to get through.
When I tuned into Wednesday, my faith was put into Wednesday being the main character, which she was; and it came quickly to me that everyone else is superfluous: she is extremely self-focused/self-centered. She uses people (all the time). As a writer, it would be very easy to have her dismiss Enid (and make it so that she would have to get a new roommate the next year until it's deemed too dangerous for her to live with anybody and is stuck up there alone in her senior year).
That said, GB gets a bronze star sticker for doing the very least in correcting such a shitty and inaccurate accusation about PHW SA'ing Ortega on set.
