Centipede trees. They filter toxins and purify the water, but then they add a bunch of their own poisons to it, so. : /
I'm assuming these have a bit of lobopod and philodendron in them. In some possible alternate universe, this is also kinda how I envision the native "vegetation" of the Alien's homeworld, assuming the Aliens are naturally evolved organisms rather than fabricated biomechanical constructs.

This was always, to me, the power of Alien (1979). And it was also, strangely, the comfort that it provided to me:
