On the last dozen rows of this hat. So excited.

This week has been a tough week at work - I don't work for the U.S government, but we work closely with ATC (air traffic control), a branch of the government that is currently going unfunded and short staffed because of the government shutdown, and it's been rough.
It's also been a tough week here in the knitting community- so much discussion and stories of the racist encounters being brought to light. I wish to say something moving, profound, but really, all I can think of is: I'm sorry.
There are no excuses for the awful experiences those in our community have gone through. None whatsoever. Racism. Ageism. Ableism. Sexism. Discrimination of any kind should have no room in this community.
THIS IS FINALLY DONE. It needs a good soak and blocking but it's done! ππ©π Finally. This hat is also extremely hard to photograph.
I'm going to have to dip a little into the second skein (that is for a pair of gloves). But I'm close to the end of the hat so it shouldn't be a lot.

With how dark the yarn is, I'm having trouble capturing the color and the cables in this knit. So you are just going to have to trust me that everything is going well and I'm a good couple of inches in, ππ Maybe I'll try to get some photos in the morning light tomorrow.

Progress is happening!!! I essentially need to double the size of the body of the hat and then I can do the crown shaping. Tardis needle gauge for size reference. Sorta. Lol
Had my sister try on the hat and it's just a tad too small. πππ I'm going to have to start over......again...... (even the ribbing band is a tad to small). All by just a smudge. And my ballwinder is in a box in storage. πππ
I've never had so much trouble with a project.
