I crop, then sharpen via an action I have used for years, (I’m a dumbass cause the before is sharpened too and cba to redo those without the sharpening cause the files have been deleted).  I then use a psd that fits the colouring of the scene i’m trying to colour, I often open the psd to modify/delete some action in order to make it fit. I usually brighten it (under the psd, it works better). I had to modify the Marie Antoinette/Louis one and the Theon/Sansa one more than the other two because the scenes are very mono chromatic, usually changing the base colouring via ‘selective color’.
