Some moisture will come off the Atlantic early this week bringing a 20-30% chance of showers and thunderstorms to south Georgia. A weak system will move across the Tennessee Valley early this week and this will bring a 20% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms to the north Georgia and upstate South Carolina mountains. But by the end of the week and into race weekend, it will be dry except for the coastal areas of Georgia where there will be a 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. However, with high pressure building, temperatures will stay above normal with highs in the 80s to near 90, except 70s in the mountains. The good news is that humidities will be lower.
