Ghrayef or Baghreer (Algerian pancakes)
One of the most beautiful traditions in Algeria is that when moving out, the owners of the house must prepare something sweet that contains yeast in it and feed their neighbors so their staying in that house as well as their relationship with the neighbors would be good and prosperous.
So for this new beginning, I made Ghrayef: Algerian version of semolina pancakes... After they are cooked, a thin layer of melted butter is made on top of the pancake before a generous amount of honey (or sugar) is poured
