It’s a park...” They could never be too careful. Perhaps he was too paranoid of anyone eavesdropping, but he justifies it to himself by thinking it’s better to be safe than sorry.

     ‘  come on  ,  sally !  ‘  he sits propped up with his back firmly against the inner wall of the locker , both feet on the door to keep it from slamming shut despite sally’s efforts . ‘ can’t we please postpone this to next period  ?  ‘  it’s not so much the prospect of being shoved in a locker that he minds – sure , the first few times had been panic-inducing , but he’s gotten rather used to it by now , it’s more-so losing the perfect excuse for missing the algebra quiz this afternoon he’s worked up about , ‘ please , work with me here ! this could be a win - win situation ! ‘

When two hands clasp his shoulders, and a loud “Boo!” sounds beside his ear, Graham’s kneejerk reaction is, naturally, to crack the handle of the bat into the nose of the attacker. He had expected a sleepwalker to wrap hands around his throat, he had expected a Lucid ready to wrestle him to the ground. He had expected a lot of things, but in retrospect, maybe he should have just expected one tiny pink-haired demon. “Holy shit– “ Graham drops the bat in an instant, hands hovering uselessly as he blinks in horror at his handiwork–Sally’s bloody nose. “What the fuck? Are you okay? What the fuck, Sal? I’m–No you know what, I’m not sorry!” He folds his arms stubbornly, all kinds of shame-flushed for his own overjumped reaction; “this is your own fault!”

He tries to care about the other members of the club but honestly, they’re kind of a generalization in his mind. There are other kids helping out and weird things are happening to them too, but he’s detached in a way that if something happens to them he doesn’t take any personal hits for it.
