Okay so I’m not usually one for shipping a bully with their victim but I literally can’t stop thinking about Ruth/Max. Like to me that is just like the most chaotic ridiculous ship to me and I want to see more of them.
Hear me out on this one, I think they surprisingly have a bit in common (they both literally share a line in NPMD), and I feel like if they talked they would have very good banter, it would probably turn very sexual though. I also really think Max is really weak for kind of freaky women who deeply hate him, and I think he gets very very attached to them after a while. That I think is contrasted with Ruth who seems to be very lose with her crushes and seems more interested in sexual connection then actual romantic relationships I think is really interesting.
So to be clear, I think these two would have a very interesting kind of enemies with benefits kind of thing. I think it kind of works for me because I think Ruth would be very happy with the whole dynamic, if not slightly annoyed by Max’s romantic advances (but I think she enjoys being a bit salty so she probably is enjoying the shit out continuously rejecting him) and Max is miserable the whole time cause he keeps being rejected. Everyone wins.
Anyway the point is I want to see more of this pairing because I’ve only read like one fic where they were a side pairing at the end and I just think they have so much potential to have a really interesting and funny dynamic.
