- He has a large stomach scar on his stomach (from a prior surgery) to parallel the impalement of his “canon” counterpart

- He has a college masters degree in theology

- He named Adam after his great grandfather

- He saw Abbadon in his nightmares as child but thought nothing of it as he got older

- He’s younger than Nathan by a few years despite looking older

- He doesn’t like pushing his religion on people, Kathy and the kids were worried about that when Nathan first introduced him to the family

- He helped Katherine emotionally through the divorce and still lets her vent about Ron sometimes

Kathy, Ester, and Ben live at the hotel after the divorce or just hang out there a lot and live nearby?

Nathan, Abraham, and Adam live there since Nathan runs the hotel, so Kathrine and the kids don’t need to move in. But because the divorce was so bad and Kathy felt desperate to leave, do you think they would move in regardless?

My idea is that after the divorce and moving away from his old church, the Priest and Adam began attending a church closer to the Undervale. Coincidently, this would be around the same time close to when Nathan’s depression began to get really bad.

In this scenario, Nathan stumbled around and wound up at that church right after mass on a random Sunday. Just looking for someone, anyone to talk to, he met with the Priest, now Pastor. The Priest could tell right off the bat that something was going on with Nathan, despite immediately being able to tell that he wasn’t a part of the congregation, or even a religious man. But he still took the initiative and invited Nathan to talk privately. They talked for a bit and even though they didn’t get deep or hit the core of Nathan’s issues, they still managed to click. They bonded over a special kind of loneliness, an emptiness that was hard to describe to others. They got each other and that’s where it started.

Over the next couple of months, it became a regular occurrence with them; Sunday would roll around and once the Priest was done with mass and saying goodbye to everyone in the congregation, Nathan would be waiting on the front steps, ready for their weekly talks. It was part impromptu therapy session, part bonding, part Totally Not A Date. They grew closer and Nathan started taking steps towards getting better now that he had a routine he enjoyed, all thanks to a an unlikely friend.
