Our muses bathe together

When was the last time they shared a bath together? X couldn’t be sure. So many memories bled together through the years: how was he to distinguish one bath time from the next? I wish I had, he thought weakly, huddling closer into Erik’s chest. Erik. That name broke X’s aching heart just to think, let alone accept he’d come back in some form. People did not return from the dead, no matter how wholly they were loved.

Yet here they were, he and Erik, in a tub, touching and murmuring to each other as they would have before Erik—as though the last two months never happened. Except they did, X thought drearily, squeezing Erik tighter around the waist. He felt so real, so warm and alive...if X hadn’t built this mindplace himself he might still believe he was in the tangible world. This is better than the real world. I don’t want to leave.

“I don’t want to leave,” X whimpered, turning his head inward. He sniffed, willing himself to focus, tune into the feeling of Erik’s arms around him, the warmth of his breath against his forehead, the beat of his heart against his ear—Erik is dead. How is this possible?

Erik or Wilhelm? Either option will change the mood drastically (although there's bound to be some hilarity—for me—either way) and I love both equally.

Do I want the epic angst fest that is protective but unable to do anything Erik!pov who is both amused and exasperated at Wille being all SIMONSIMONSIMONSIMON all the time always, and whose heart is breaking for his poor bb brother whenever he isn't busy wanting to yell at everyone?

or Wilhelm finding strength in having his wise and supportive big brother by his side, unaware and uncaring that that isolates him even more because why would he need Felice, Nils etc if he has Erik to share all his Simon and crown shaped woes with (and who gives even worse relationship and sex advice than Ayub and Rosh, but at least he knows how to handle Mamma & Co)?
