Hey, while we’re on about nanowrimo hiding behind “accessibility” to fuel its continual bigoted policies, I just got… this? This bullshit?
The nerve to start an email with “yea we could do better” and then to IMMEDIATELY start this shit. “We made our platform more welcoming for kids by making it inaccessible for kids.” “We made kids safer by removing some of the only human connections they might be able to access.” “We made our platform more comfortable for adults… now they don’t have to limit themselves from making ageist jokes or talking about topics that might make kids uncomfortable!” (Not just kids, you assholes. Not just kids.)
This is barely notable in comparison to a lot of the policies being pushed right now to restrict kids’ freedom to use the internet, but I wanted to share it anyway. This is not okay, and it’s certainly not to protect anyone’s “safety”.
Makes me sick.
