I never noticed that Duzerās parents didnāt appear in the show...what do you think theyāre like? For that matter, what do you think everyoneās relationships with their folks are like. It must be hard, it seems like Gravedale high is a type of boarding school after all
Oh jeeze, uhā¦ I donāt really know where to start with this. I guess by pointing out that in addition to the Monster AU @animatedc9000 and I made I also have an Animated Monster AU thatās a crossover with Gravedale High, Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School, Monster in my Pocket (the cancelled Hanna-Barbera TV show that only aired one episode), and Mad Monster Party/Mad Mad Mad Monsters?
I point this out because Iāve kinda just blurred my headcanons for the show with what Iāve started doing for this AU and in said AU Iāve kindaā¦ made Medusa from Monster in my Pocket Duzerās mom? And considering that Medusa was in that showās Super Monster Jail (not what it was called but thatās basically what it is), Iāve kinda made it so that Duzer barely knows her and has mostly been cared for by her two nearly-grown-up sisters (that Cait came up with) since whoever her dad is has been out of the picture for a while? For a long time she doesnāt talk about her home life much with anyone, not even Cleo, but itāsā¦ not good. Some of whatās been going on with her at home does eventually come to light and some of her class volunteer to have her stay with them instead from time to time up until sheās ready to live on her own.
As for the other kidsā¦
In the show Frankentyke was embarrassed about having a human creator for a dad but by the end he was more than willing to accept him, so I imagine he and his human dad have a good relationship, unlike that of theĀ ādadā he and Gill tried to make, which was fairly shallow. His human dad doesnāt talk about his first son/Frankentykeās brother Big Frankie much though since heās realized that Frankieās a goddamn creep and not in the good way.
Sidās parents have aā¦ strange relationship. Not that theyāre particularly bad to him (theyāve had quite the influence on the way he is) or each other (theyāve hit it off well since they met while auditioning for a high school talent show as impressionists), itās just that theyāve been considering seeing other people while still being together? Theyāre not really sure how to bring that up with Sid though, whoās having his own journey in self-discovery on who and what he likes.
Gill comes from a line of reasonably wealthy southern US monsters (well, on his dadās side anyway; his motherās from Peru), and his parents are pretty chill, both with Gill and in general.
Vinnieās a stubborn kid, but the truth is he cares a lot about his mom.
Blancheās parents doted on her a lot while she was growing up.
Since Cleoās parents were nowhere to be seen in the episode with the parents either, Iāve kinda assumed that theyāre not exactly great parents eitherā¦ Not the same level of bad as Duzerās mom, more like neglectful.
Reggieās mom is more mild-mannered while his dad is more of the strict parent.
J.P. canāt complain much about his dad; heās rich and lets him do what he wants.
