wanted to appreciate rahafwabas' depiction of the abusive relationship between killer and nightmare , specifically in this recent drawing

i had some people (including me) mistake it for romantic, until i analyzed it further nightmare is looking down at him (implying he sees him as a lower being) with a frown—almost a scowl. killer has a small, almost forced smile .
coming from a victim's perspective, i can really sympathize and relate to killer in this scenario , feeling pressured to smile at your oppressor knowing they would hurt you if you didnt . there could even be points where the victim looks up to the abuser / sees them as higher , or develops stockholm syndrome
rahaf has always had a good way of portraying killer's abuse and i appreciate being seen as a victim of something similar ♡
