There is a lot to be said about this little greenish old man gear. How in Overture his red eyes are ringed with yellow*; how in Overture he's shown to be covered in either feathers or fish-like scales, but in Dual Rulers it's shown his green parts are scaly; the symbolism throughout his iterations we'll never get a hint as to its meaning.

(*What does it mean. WHAT DOES IT MEAN. We know humanoid eyes are red with white sclera but nonhumanoid gear eyes are red on red. WHAT DOES IT MEAN)

The fact he canonically has found out the original recipe to make gears and used it to make his assistants, Bonnie, Bennie and Bunnie. Asuka who? This is the REAL gearmaker. step aside.

The fact he's so devoted to keeping his gear companions safe and happy that when the hypothesis they'll be taken as mindless puppets, he begs for them to be mercy-killed, possibly out of Justice-related trauma (who knows?). The fact we see this again in Dual Rulers. The fact that there, he doesn't ever consider Diplomacy With Humans as an option, but regularly sticks his neck out to help these humans just the same.

The fact he could work as the inverse of Ky. Yeah. Don't look away. I mean it.

The fact his Overture bubble probably caused the modellers to riot and was thusly removed for the next iterations. (Please read the modeller's comment in his page on the Overture Material Collection. The man was losing it).

The fact canonically he's quite the emotional fellow, but tries to stick to reason. The fact Izuna is one of the few people who don't annoy him. The fact he knows magic beyond what humans could fathom, just by studying it. How did a gear in hiding acquire all these books and materials for research?

There's a lot of questions I have about him. That I'll never get answers to. Maybe I don't need them, or want them. Maybe it's best to leave Dr. Paradigm a strange mystery - perhaps he'd like it better that way.

What I can say: he means a lot to me. Perhaps it was obvious, so many pieces of art and crafts and an entire fursuit later, but I need to say it. He's a character near and dear to my heart - a strange creature, among a vastly humanoid cast of characters. A creature so far from a human, but so intelligent, so well dressed, so well spoken. Such a master of his art.
