 Art Kane: A Retrospective
Monday â Saturday , Snap Galleries, Piccadilly Arcade
Aside from sporting a truly spectacular name, Art Kane knew what to do with a camera in his hand. The New York born photographer is responsible for many an iconic photograph of the musicians and models who became famous during the 60s and 70s such as Hendrix and The Who, amongst others. A bold visionary, his style is best described as amusingly surreal, vibrant in colour and beautifully erotic. His son Jonathan best sums his approach up âItâs not shooting the musician doing their thing. Itâs shooting them doing his thing.â If youâre looking to satisfy your cultural craving this weekend, then this is the place to do it.
