English isn't my 1st language so I might getting it wrong, but to me that synopsis doesn't read like "the gang gets tested and mac doesn't have adhd" but more like "at some point in the past the twins got diagnosed with adhd and mac somehow has never been tested even tho it's obvious as fuck"? Esp bc he second part of the synopsis makes it sound like a long time has passed since Dee and Dennis got diagnosed and the re-do. Idk tho, as I said, not my 1st language. But I've seen some people already complain about "Mac not having adhd" and was confused by it bc I understood it very differently lol
I think the summary is a little confusing because they seem to want to keep it brief and vague, but, grammatically, I don't think it's meant to imply Dennis and Dee were diagnosed with ADHD in the past and Mac never was... "Dennis and Dee are diagnosed with ADHD, and even more shocking: Mac isn't." is meant to be read as the basis for the episode, as in "in this episode, Dennis and Dee are diagnosed with ADHD and it's a shock that Mac is not also given an ADHD diagnosis..."
I see how "They go back to school for a do-over now that they understand their brains more better." can seem like a lot of time has passed, but given they are 50 years old, I don't think this is a whole moment where they reapply to college, but that since they got diagnosed they thought "hey let's take a psychology course at the community college to see if we would have done better with ADHD accommodations"
So I think the way people are reading the summary is correct, "Mac is determined not to have ADHD," but I don't think that's necessarily a damning statement, either. It's literally in the description that that's a shock that he doesn't receive an ADHD diagnosis, so clearly there's a lot more that's going to happen in this episode that we aren't yet privy to.
I get the split reaction to what looks like "canon confirmation" about their neurodivergencies (or lack thereof), but I trust the writers room knows the characters and they know what they're doing here, we just gotta see how it plays out.
