Kitabachi circa 2010 Taken by nuo2x2 with Fuji Finepix Z33 WP
hum... seems my Tumblr would be the only Socials that got lagged behind and start loosing tractions here... oh well, Im not here for the likes anyway...
but still, trying to offer a more interesting thematic post series for now, and here comes the legend of Japanese Arcade Centers!!! or what we usually called as Gesen (abbreviation of Game Centers in Japanese, yeah, totally weird)
all photos are mine, since I took em on myself during my game crawl, lmao
starting with Kitabachi, a large amusement centre near my family house, where I spent almost every night when Im there, playing arcades, lmao...
taken back in 2010, might be my last photo pf the place, since they closed not long after... RIP Kitabachi, thank you for everything...

Dragon Quest Slimes Prizes - SEGA Arcade Center Taken by nuo2x2 with Fujifilm X-T100
gonna close with this one, won over the UFO catcher.. super cute, super tiny, yet nicely detailed... also... if you’re an OG around here, you’ll know the character was the former name for one of our awesome residences around here...
honoring @sega-naomi with their earlier nickname, Metallic Slime!!! lol
hope you can enjoy
Anata no Warehouse (Kawasaki Warehouse) circa 2018 Taken by nuo2x2 with Premier BF66 + Fujicolor 100
oof sorry, again, crazy IRL works... nonetheless, gotta finish this series!
one of my best memories when moving to Kanagawa back then, was this stunning gesen or arcade center... more like mini theme park even... pretty famous during that period on socials like Instagram and the likes, where they have gory scary yet beautifully themed interior, more like jumpin into post apocalyptic or even Akira’s world type of interior, and it’s totally free.. many tourists visit this place for sure...
personally, I really love this arcade because of their game collection, mostly a bit older, a bit more retro than what we have in regular arcades in Japan, think of 2000s ish type or arcade... and reason Im keep coming, they got music arcades from that period, like Guitar Freaks and Drum Mania V3, dayum.. only place where I can experience that game in Kanagawa
yet that snap might be my last photo of the building, since not long after, in November 2019 they closed down.. even before the pandemic..
sigh... RIP Kawasaki warehouse.. was really a gem, such lost...

Taito Station circa 2008 Taken by nuo2x2 with Casio Exilim EX-Z3
wont be a proper Japanese arcade center tour WITHOUT mentioning Akiba or Akihabara no?
this one obviously still there, so good news for once... I just sharing their condition back in 2008, they still looks the same, but not the neighboring buildings for sure...
Im not really a touristy-spots kind of a guy, so rarely go to Akiba... but yeeee, once in awhile would still be good...
mostly contains Taito games, from that new space invaders game to many rhythm and musical arcade games...
