Their eyes are so big because they’re looking at god
I don’t generally draw people. At all. Partly because I’m not very good at it, partly because my OCD hates it when I do - and the more I love the person, the harder it is. I have some terror of drawing people badly, a fear that I’m doing some kind of magic harm. But fuck that. I saw this photo and absolutely needed to paint it. I tried to paint the whole thing, and that went terribly - so I settled for one beautiful eye. I don’t know if I managed to quite capture the Joan-of-Arc glow, but I did my very best. Original photo:
