i just wanted to let you know that i love your voices for pat and rey! you've really captured their personalities, and its great to see more people express interest for starforce. i think your voice might work well for subaru/geo as well, but that's just a hunch of mine. either way, awesome work!
I have to disagree with you on the subaru/geo recommendation, actually. While I do think Iām capable of pulling off a good, solidĀ ādetermined heroā voice, thereās this special kind ofĀ ātwangā that exists in younger protagonist voices that I simply donāt think Iāve nailed down at this point in time.
When you listen to Kyle McCarley (as 9S), Ray Chase (as Noctis), or Bryce Papenbrook (as basically Every 2016 JRPG Videogame Lead Role) for example, thereās this sort ofĀ ācrispnessā that carries through their vocals thatās hard to explain; the best way I can put it is that they sound really clearĀ in their tone, with very little breath or rasp behind their voice. That kind of crispness conveys an immense amount of subtle confidence, and is really key to playing a character that is supposed to embody unwavering leadership and reliability.
Part of the reason Iāve landed so manyĀ āsarcastic assholeā roles might have to do with the fact that my normal relaxed tone has thisĀ āair of affluenceā to it, a sort of apathetic calmness that can come off as arrogant or dismissive with the right emphasis behind it. It works very well for the roles Iāve been cast in, but it doesnāt translate well when youāre trying to play the friendly, understanding heroĀ who openly supports his sidekicks. Itās just a different character archetype that I need to get better at performing in general.

Ā Ā He practically drags his body through the noise. The ceremonial blade firmly gripped in his hand. From the noise came an almost fatigue from him, and although the Proof of Darkness did well to regulate it there was little he could do with the pressure that pressed upon him. It helped little that there was no distraction from the noise and chaos on the world. What he would do to see another soul. The loneliness was getting to him, and although he prided himself on him inherit loneliness, there was something about this type that felt disgusting. He would almost attribute it to the type of loneliness he felt on Mu--- in Oblivion.
Ā Ā But as those thoughts swamp in his mind in his wanderings, his steps stop short as he looks up from the ground and at the figure in front of him. Thereās confusion in his face mixed with shock as if the appearance of the other was ghostly or hallucinogenic. ā.... Subaru...?ā But as that name registers in his head there isnāt a feeling of joy, there isnāt a rush of adrenaline that spikes through his veins at the prospect of a battle, but thereās hatred that burns. Your fault, thatās what his soul whispers to him (or is it the Indie Proof?).Ā āYou.... You have a lot of nerve finding me. What do you want?ā
@geostelar Ā
The question sends chills down his spine - but perhaps it would be best to call it an accusation? Hes unsure of how to reply, but thereās something eating away at his core, begging him to scream⦠begging him to shout in refusal.
Denial.
Heās whispering, a jumbled, jittery mess. From a distance, however, he looks rather collected. Thereās a clear indication of noise that surrounds him, as a familiar figure, masked with an even more familiar face, beckons him.
āNo.ā He mouths, shaking his head in fervent refusal.
He wasnāt sure what heād wanted him to say. It had been a truly loaded question; itād slipped out without thought. But if he could see that pain behind Geoās face, heād have turned and ran away in shame. Now, however, he felt the need to approach, to comfort, to do anything. The boy took a step forward.
ā...I-Iām sorry. That just... I...āĀ
What would he be doing now if heād said āyesā? Would he still feel this guilty? Probably. This might not be the version that heād come to know, but this was still his best friend. And for once, Geo might have needed him more than he needed Geo. Entirely ignoring the disturbances in the air, he moved on, slowly, before pausing.
ā...I was so selfish.ā Not only to ask the question, but to even show his face here in the first place. āPlease... forgive me.āĀ

Ā Ā Ā time travel was something rockman never thought about, but in hindsight, he supposed it was only a matter of time until it happenedĀ ( ah, he should file that joke away for later use ). after all, many unusual things had happened to him already.Ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā the first time he met subaru, he was baffled, and though they had separated on friendly terms, rockman frankly didnāt expect to see him again. but there he was. not that he wasnāt unwelcome, of course -- in fact, rockman felt oddly protective over subaru for some reason -- it was simply unexpected. of course, his first reaction to something unexpected would be to assume something went wrong. thatās how most things turned out, anyway.
Ā Ā Ā Ā ā subaru ... are you okay? did something happen? ā

Cont. from.
āYou -- seem to be mad at me, is all.ā
āAm -- Am I wrong?ā Was it misplaced to think? It wouldnāt be surprising to him. He deserved that, in all honesty, he thought.
But he didnāt want -- No, it was selfish to think about his self, really, in this situation.
āI just wanted to see you again...ā An almost inaudible sentence, spoken barely above a whisper. Subaru was important to him, after all. A friend... A friend!!
But... Was that selfish? āShould I... Leave you alone?ā
Starlight Starbright...
@geostelar
š¶BGM: Animal Crossing: New Leaf - 1 AM
A cloudless starry night. A perfect opportunity for stargazing, which brought the Temporal Duo out of their house to stare in awe at the night sky. Side by side, the two girls laid next to each other, pointing out constellations with no worries in the world. What a time to be alive and well.
{{āMiles?ā}} Sapphire asked as she turned to Mileah, {{"You said you used to do this with your dad right?"}}
"Yeppers," Mileah replied with a small sigh, "Especially in the summertime. Every night we would sneak out while Mom was at work, and sit under our Stargazing Tree, and look at all the constellations, and sleep under them. Those days I cherish a lot. I honestly haven't found anyone else who likes or wants to do this with me. You're the only one who ever comes with me now."
The time NetNavi glanced at her NetOp, then to the sky, and back at Mileah, frowning a bit at the mention of being the only person who stargazes with her. {{"Well, you're my NetOp, and what kind of NetNavi would I be to not spend time with you? I know we may bicker and agrue sometimes, but I still care for you. And besides, one day we'll find someone who also loves stargazing. You just got to be patient."}}
For a moment, there was no response. The remaining sounds were the wind that brushed through the tree's leaves and the grassy plain. "I hope you're right Sapph..." Mileah whispered, still looking up above, to see something twinkling brightly that started to shoot across the sky. "A shooting star!"
The duo quickly closed their eyes and whispered the wishes under their breaths, to then open to see it vanish as its streak faded slowly into the sea of stars. "Oh man, I wish Dad was able to see that. He would have loved seeing a shooting star..."
Many words wanted to spill out of Sapphire's mouth, although none of them came to fruition. She couldn't muster any of them out, leaving silence to come and welcome itself back. Maybe it was best to say nothing at all, and just lose herself into the stars.

Send me a ā š„ ā for an unpopular opinion.
[ netnavis lack reproductive functions seeing as thereās no need for them. therefore, actions related to those functions are nonexistent. i would even go as far to say that romantic functions were only introduced because netnavis model off of human behavior. they have the innate wish to emulate humans to a certain extent, if their AI is built to cater to that kind of interaction. ]
