Just in time for Repeal Day (what a coincidence!), Here's the excellent second edition of MGP Ingredient's George Remus Repeal Reserve. Plus, an obligatory bit about Prohibition and some guy named Morris Sheppard...

Another very good bourbon from MGP Ingredients...er, I mean George Remus. And while I like this whiskey very much, I still think it's a bit strange and off-putting to name a brand after a guy who killed his wife in front of her daughter and pretty much got away with it...

Even though they can't quite bring themselves to call it their own whiskey, it's very nice to see MGP Ingredients finally releasing their own stuff. Here's a look at their lively, robust, first "core expression." Not surprisingly, there's a bit about the history behind that Remus guy as well...

The final manuscript for my next book is due to the publisher this Friday at 5:00 pm. So this sketch has a story behind it. While at the @seelbachhilton this past weekend, I took the opportunity to sketch the Rathskeller room. This room is the only surviving complete @rookwoodpottery room in the world. As I sat there alone, near the middle of the room, sketching, I felt as if someone was sitting on my chest and found it incredibly hard to breathe, along with a headache. I quickly and sloppily finished my sketch because I felt that I just couldn’t sit there anymore. That was the strongest paranormal feeling I ever felt! George Remus, Al Capone and F. Scott Fitzgerald, along with many others, all graced the bar in this room many years ago.
