Pleather ? Over my dead body  â Superhero ! Klaine
(ohmygodilovethistheme)
 Summary : When Blaine decides to become a vigilante to defend the gay population of Lima, Kurt steps up to create the proper costume because Blaineâs ideas ⌠well, they just wonât do !
Kick Ass / Glee Cross-over Extravaganza (with just a dash of Edna Mode because I couldn't help myself)
 I donât own anything, duh !
It started slowly.
Blaine had always been the kind of man who steps up when someone is attacked or prejudiced because of something out of their control : size, weight, skin color and, naturally, sexual orientation.
At first, he was more inclined to tend to the bullied needs : helping the slushied clean themselves, comforting a sobbing teen, etc.
But suddenly, really out of nowhere, he started to go after the bullies themselves, pushing them back strongly enough to force them to the ground and to apologize to their targets.
Not that that concerned him or anything, but Kurt really needed to make sure that Blaine was not turning into an adrenaline junkie.
No, Kurt started to really worry when Blaine started to leave really early from their dates,, coming back with a couple of bruises.
At first.
Then came the pretty gruesome cut on his arm.
Then a twisted ankle.
The black eye was the last straw.
~~~
âNow youâre going to tell me what is g-â Kurt hissed at Blaine just as he entered his room, but the outfit he found his boyfriend wearing was simultaneously an answer to his question and distracting enough to make him forget it.
Blaine Anderson, gentleman extraordinaire, was standing in front of his mirror, half-naked, wearing tight, shiny pants that had some sorts of swords attached to the thighs, his glorious back exposed to Kurtâs hungry gaze.
âK-Kurt, I swear, I meant to tell you, but I didnât want you to worry and to tell me that I had to stop because itâs dangerous and I know that itâs dangerous, reckless, useless because Iâm not going to eradicate stupidity from Lima, but itâs a start, itâs something and âŚâ Kurt, who had joined Blaine in three long strides, quickly interrupted Blaine in his rant by a firm kiss that worked like a charm.
Sitting on the bed and putting on his top (much to Kurtâs chagrin), Blaine explained in a hushed voice that after the Saddie Hawkins incident, the doctors had been obliged to put some metal on his skull and arms and legs to consolidate the broken bones, and that it had made him âlike some kind of Wolverine, Kurt, you remember Hugh Jackman playing him ?â âAs long as you donât get the same haircut ⌠Sorry, go onâ, and that at first he had been too scared to do anything but that he had become more and more angry at the unfairness of the situation of the estranged population particularly the young ones, and even more specifically the gay population of Lima and Westerville and everything in between, and how he had started to go out at night to patrol the streets near the famous gay places he knew â There are gay places around here beside Scandals ?!â âKurt, focusâ â and had become some sort of superhero, protector of the gays, âonly itâs so much more than being a superhero from afar, Iâm really doing it, and Iâm helping people, Kurt, I feel like Iâm useful, like when Iâm teaching some kids to protect themselves when theyâre attacked, itâs not just the adrenaline and the costume âŚâ
Speaking of which âŚ
âMay I ask what is going on with âŚthis, now that you mention it ?â Kurt asked, gesturing at Blaineâs costume.
Matching the black pants, Blaine wore a black top with golden lines along the elbows, and Kurt could see that there was a mask hanging from Blaineâs pocket : pulling it out, he played with the shiny black fabric, on which golden fllames had been painted around the opening for the eyes.
âBlack and gold ?â he asked, still testing the material of the mask.
âYesâ Blaine answered, rubbing the back of his neck. âApparently, itâs very âstrikingâ, God knows what the guys mean by that âŚâ
âOh, Iâm sure it makes your eyes pop, especially when youâre angry or fightingâ Kurt said, standing up, âbut there is one thing I canât get over.â
His tone was so serious that Blaine started to imagine the worst : he had always known that this, that him becoming some kind of real-life superhero would push Kurt away, but if he had to, it would stop it all, if he could keep Kurt he would swear to never ever again do it âŚ
âLeatherette is an absolute no-no in my book, you know that honey.â
What ?
âHuh ?â Hm, eloquent as always, Anderson. âSorry, I mean ⌠Thatâs your only objection ?â he asked, taking Kurtâs hands in his own.
âWell, as you explained, your metal bones make you kind of invincible ?â
âSort of âŚ?â
âAnd youâre training to avoid thatâ pointing to the black eye still visible on Blaineâs face âkind of things, correct ?â
âYep.â
âThen yes, darling, my only veto goes to the materials you chose for your costume. No, really, baby, pleather ? We both know that you have a tendency to sweat when youâre really active, the porosity â or should I say, the absence of porosity of that ⌠stuffâ Kurt added with a twist of his mouth, âmust be killing you !â he finally exclaimed, handing the mask back with hesitant fingers, as if he was this close to just throw the offending garment in a fire.
âIt was the cheapest I could findâ Blaine pouted, taking the mask. He knew it was by no means perfect, but still, he thought he had made a pretty damn job with his costume !
âOh, I know honeyâ Kurt said gently, pulling Blaine in a hug. âBut ⌠if you give me free reign over your superheroic wardrobe, I can make it ⌠perfectâ.
Blaine tightened his hold on Kurtâs back before chuckling.
"Can you make me a cape ?"
"NO."
"But âŚ"
"No cape, I don't even want to hear it. No cape, no buts"
"Except mine ?" Blaine asked teasingly, wiggling said appendage.
Kurt laughed, taking it in his hands. "Except yours."
