Oliver's hand slipped, reaching for Felicity's arm as she started to fall
He braced himself for the splash as she hit the water, Rene and Dinah groaning behind him. They’d already scaled the cargo net twice, and Felicity had fallen both times, forcing their team to start the obstacle over again.
“I hate you all,” she growled from the water, pulling herself back up onto the edge.
“I vote Felicity goes first,” Curtis piped up. “Less energy we all have to put out.”
But Oliver just sighed, grabbing Felicity and hoisting her up over his shoulders, piggy-back style, as he began his ascent up the cargo net.
“And it appears that the mayor is going to carry his fiance to the end of this obstacle,” one of the announcers called through the PA system. “At this rate, they may just be able to make up enough time to make a run for first place in this years Charity Run of Team Ninja.”
The team all followed suit, climbing back up the cargo net and toward the next obstacle. “Do you think anyone’s going to be suspicious?” Felicity asked in his ear, as Oliver set her down.
“That I’m the Green Arrow?” Oliver replied. “Not unless…” he turned, only to find that the next obstacle was a red and white circular target, a few hundred feet away, a set of bows and arrows at every team’s station. “The bastards,” he swore under his breath, before reaching for the bow.
