I'm still deciding if gengo is deluded or if it's actually an interesting idea, that Zabuza's driving motivation to rebel is thinking they should just go scorched earth. after the mizukage he was planning to kill the daimoyo or smth. i. don't think it quite fits? but. I am considering. rotating it in my head like a microwave. Like that doesn't line up with the zabuza we meet, but maybe, like 8 years ago or whatever when he was actively fighting in the war, he was different. the big driving force of the war (far as we know, at least) was the bloodline purges, which Zabuza saved and took Haku under his wing and protected the kid once he was discovererd and orphaned, so obviously he was opposed to the mizukage on that front, but he also took years to admit/realize he cared about haku so....was he not as invested in the preserverence of clan heritage and bloodline limits as most of the rebels supposedly would've been? i dunno. i dunno
