Got tired of using simpe every time i start a new save/uberhood (which is much more than i'd admit) so i've made my own version of strangetown!
this uses @average-vidcund-enjoyer's V2 gc strangetown premades on Dorsal Axe's Fixed Strangetown V 1.3. i've also moved in the Singles and Ajay Loner into their lots (which come in with the essential furnishings and nothing else) for my conveinence.

Skip to the download: CC-free Sims2Packs + .simpe face templates
Hello all! It's been awhile...I know. Life is life.
I do still love making genetically correct sims and recently I've been wanting to start a new Pleasantview. I like my old genetically correct Pleasantview, but it was a first try and I'd like to give it a bit of a refresh. Plus it's fun for me. :P
This time around I want to slowly work on each family + lots, releasing them slowly at first and then have the combined hood at the end. This allows me to really focus and expand on each one. Plus I'm generally not very motivated, but I think working small parts at a time will help this. All parents extracted from Croconaw/MeetMetotheRiver's Clean Pleasantview template. Offspring created in CAS.
A little refresher on the Newbie-Broke lineage...
To note I only considered the genetics of the previous generation in making the current playables. For example, Betty Newbie's appearance was extracted directly from SimPe. She was not genetically created with recreated Vadim/Fatima Simovitch. I did attempt this, but found that Brandi would look too dissimilar from her original non-gc face. I still want to keep with the general aesthetics of the original faces, just obviously improved, especially for the second-gen playables like Dustin and Beau.
So first, we have the Newbies:
Bob + Betty = Brandi
slight face shape changes, smaller less-bug eyes
The Brokes:
Flat + Flo = Skip, Ruby
smaller Broke nose, forehead/brows from Flo
Bonus! Ruby Broke, Skip's older sister seen in TS3.
"Ruby Broke is thinking about moving out but she enjoys the convenience of having family close by."
I absolutely LOVE her face. I think it's a perfect mix between Flat and Flo. I did garner inspiration for her hair/outfit/eyes from her Sims 3 version.
And finally...the boys.
Brandi + Skip = Dustin, Beau, Unborn Baby Broke
Dustin -
looks completely different, less sad and looks far more like Skip
Beau -
again looks very different...but now actually looks related to Dustin, yet not like twins which I thought I lacked on last time.
and there we are...
I have both the individual sims downloads, a combined package, plus the .simpe face templates that you can use to replace in any Pleasantview or other hood right now
Note: Female sims will take your default replacement makeup or lack thereof. So warning they make look a little bit crazy at first.
Genetically Correct Clean Template Strangetown With Scripted Events - CC FREE
I’m back with another genetically correct hood! You can check out my GC version of Pleasantview with scripted events here - I also explain what genetically correct means there as well in case you aren’t sure :)
Today as part of my quest to make all Sims 2 hoods genetically correct, I bring you Strangetown!
More pics, info, and download links below the cut :)
General Information:
This is a genetically correct version of Strangetown. All sim appearances have been corrected so they now resemble their ancestors! This hood was built on top of clean templates, and no other changes have been made to the hood aside from the adjustments to the sim’s appearances and DNA!
Notice: I used a mod, equal genetics while creating these sims. I do not claim to be anything but a simpleton when it comes to genetics, and I know that some of these sims’ genetics aren’t realistic - Like a blond and brunette having a blond kid. I don’t claim to know anything about genetics, so before you genetic purists come at me just know - I know this and don’t care.
My general notion was that if one of their ancestors had a gene, then they could too.
Notes:
- This is CC FREE
- I used a default skin and eyes when taking the pictures. The sims will not come with these. I used Pitstop Skinblend and Poppet Clear Eyes
- All sims have been given recessive genetics - and I will say here and now they may not make actual sense scientifically speaking, once more - I don’t care about that. 98% of the sims - even the ancestors - have recessive genes. At the very end of the post you will find a chart of each sim and their recessive genes.
- Sims may get some wants or fears of their ancestors or dead relatives becoming zombies or resurrected, this is just because of the way I did this, their deaths are fresh in the playables minds.
- This hood was built on a clean template Strangetown, all ancestors and dead sims are safe to resurrect
- This was made with Ultimate Collection, so unfortunately you will need this or all packs for this to work.
- Pascal’s unborn baby will be genetically correct as well
- When you add the subhood version with townies, you’ll notice that the townie and NPC names get randomized and aren’t their original names. Though annoying, this is normal and you will have to rename them all yourself.
- The no townie version of ST STILL comes with Bella Goth, Crystal Vu, Abhijeet Cho and Meredith Lillard.Â
- I used two different clean template versions for this hood. There may be slight differences depending on what the original creators of the clean templates did to the hood. See credits.
- Bella Goth is also genetically correct with her PV ancestors
- Some sims such as Ophelia Nigmos and Kristen Loste had no ancestors with the original hairs, skins and/or eyes they have in the BG hood. Because of this, I chose the next best hair/eyes/skins that I felt brought more genetic diversity to the hood and kept the original feel of the sim
Important notice about Scripted Events:
If you are having issues with the Scripted Events:
FIRST - Navigate to your "Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection (or The Sims 2)/Neighborhoods" and delete the NeighborhoodManager.package file within this folder. Reload your game. When you load the game back up it will automatically regenerate a new, fresh NeighborhoodManager.package file - See if this fixes the scripted event problem. For some reason it can break really easily and a majority of the time resetting this file will do the trick. HUGE thanks to Cindy from PleasantSims for suggesting this! All credit to her!
SECOND - If the first suggestion doesn't work, you will need to redownload the hood, and BEFORE you run your game, take out all of your non essential mods (leave in mods like no unlink on delete, no townie regen, things that are essential) from your mods folder (just mods, cc is fine to stay in) and put it in a safe folder while you just play through the SE - then when they're done, put the mods back in.
99.9999% of the time either of these suggestions will fix the problem. If you try both and they don't work, let me know

Take care,
Mike
P.S.
As promised, below are all of the recessive genetics of the sims in the hood in case you get a baby and go “Where the f did that come from?!”. The parts that say N/A are if the recessive is the same as their dominant :)

GENETICALLY CORRECT PLEASANTVIEW using carrit's recreation of ancestors
Edit : re-wrote the post as there were some missing informations and some misinformation.
In EAxis Pleasantview, the premades aren't genetically correct and are simple modified face templates. This isn't new information as there has been genetically correct version of the premades done before.
Also in EAxis Pleasantview, a lot of the ancestors lacks any character data, making it impossible to resurrect/extract them. Their faces were recreated in clean templates of the neighborhood and they were given character data.
But on Mod The Sims, I stumbled across carrit's very precise recreation and decided, why not try to use them to make my own genetically correct premades ?
A few points :
• Mary-Sue, Brandi and Don weren't given any changes, that's why they aren't here. I think it's obvious as to why for Mary-Sue but as for Brandi, she already looks like her parents and it's the same for Don who is a clone of his father.
• I used the hidden version of Skip and Darleen. Dirk seems to be based off of the hidden version of his mother (also the unhidden version of her is just a face 2) and as for Skip, there's some debate about how the hidden version is the "true" version of him. So yeah.
• I could've made Bella a simple face 1 like her Strangetown version because her father is a face 1 as well. To make her more interesting-looking though, I made her a mix of her father and mother, who is a face 16.
BONUS : Lucy, Alexander and Beau respectively as adults.
