@WEduShare វីឌូស៊ែរ was established in May 2016 by 3 young #Khmer people based in #PhnomPenh. Today, the media start up company has over 20 volunteers, mainly university students, and has reached over 90k Facebook followers providing news and information on education and internship opportunities in #Cambodia and abroad. The company also hosts and organizes events, offers professional training seminars, and provides education consultancy. Earlier today I met with co-founder Otdom (center) and his team. Pichsocheat aka Pov, is one of a handful of #PhnomPenh-based photographers who regularly hashtag #khmerican on Instagram. Currently employed in the banking sector, the twenty-something professional runs a Humans of #NewYork-like page highlighting young #Khmer people. One of his goals is to turn his photos into a book. Dinner with fellow APLPers, Kagna (G16) and Menghun (G13). Both women were born and raised in the rural #Cambodia, then came into #PhnomPenh for their university studies. With determination to advance themselves professionally, they found a ticket to study in the #UnitedStates. Menghun (center) currently works for The Asia Foundation and Kagna (left) is wrapping up her studies with the East West Center and will embark on a 3 month research on women leadership. The future of Cambodia is in good hands with bright new generation of leaders like Menghun and Kagna. -- #khmershecan #generationforward

Back in Dec 2001, the #LongBeach Press-Telegram did a one week special report of the #Cambodian community. I vaguely remember this while living in Seattle. Today, my roommate pulls a mint copy of the 40-page plus spread and my eyes lit up like a kid at the candy store. I am skimming every page now and I see many recognized faces. I am so proud to see how this community has progressed since then. #generationforward #longbeachstrong #knowyourhistory
