she knew it had to be hard on him. it was an indescribable feeling, and she knew she couldn’t just say something like ‘ i understand ‘ or ‘ i get it ‘ because ... she didn’t. there were only three others that would truly understand his point of view, and none of them were there.

it sounded weak, even to her ears, but it was something. she moved closer to him, putting a reassuring hand on his back hesitantly. would he want her to touch him ? but she needed to do something to express how she felt.

she couldn’t help it – the tears kept flowing down her cheeks, despite her best efforts to stop them. she swiped quickly at them, doing her best not to look kunzite in the eye. 

that would probably make her cry more.

“ i – i didn’t know you’d be here. “ she murmured quietly, her voice cracking halfway through the sentence. she coughed, trying her best to clear her throat before continuing. maybe he didn’t see, maybe she could brush it off like he was imagining it. 

“ kunzite. “ serenity’s voice came quietly now, but steady. if one listened close enough, there was a hint of pain. loneliness. most of all, it was soft, which she hoped masked the rest of them. 

a pause, just the length of a heartbeat, before bright blue orbs searched for his. when she caught his gaze, she could feel tears well up again.

Minako had done her best to not think of what Usagi had told her. If Kunzite wanted to find her, he would have. Especially if he had his memories of Usagi, the good ones too- as he didn't attempt to kill her. Maybe he had no desire to see her again. She wouldn't blame him, plus she had her own hobbies... and goals... and dreams that didn't involve her past life or her life as a Senshi. So- perhaps it were better if she didn't go looking for him or ask about him anymore.  It still stung that he'd spend time with Usagi before seeing her, it stung that no one told her that he'd been seen. She wondered if he was coping alright, how his mind was since their fight with Beryl.  "Get a grip on yourself Aino! The past is in the past! Yeah, so you brought a dead man back to life but it's not like he owes you anything!" The more she spoke to herself, the louder she became, her emotions were riled but she swallowed her pride and decided to move on with her life, with or without him. Her mother had kicked her out till she got the grocery shopping done, so to the super market she went with a list of things that Minako did not want for future meals.
