NYC Memories- Shout Out to the early Days
The reason most young jazz musicians move to NYC is to be surrounded by incredible players, to have access to the music 24/7, and to learn. My decade in NYC was no exception. There were so many musicians, old and young, that I learned from and that helped me along in some way.
As I get ready to play in NYC again in 3 weeks. it seems appropriate to give some shout-outs to those who played a special role in my NYC journey- beyond just being incredible musicians.
#1: Gene Jackson-drummer extraordinaire, tech geek, very funny guy, from whom I purchased my 1st-ever computer.
Thank you Gene for turning me in to a digital man back in 1987!!
