Who is Kanade?

In case I reblog ur post and you don’t know who Kanade is, she’s a character from a rhythm game called Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! She composes music with her friends/music group, Nightcord at 25:00 :)

I made this blog mostly to practice adding characters to real pictures. The Kanade theme is because I’m obsessed with her

Summer: will's debt is a collar, obvs from the very beginning like. will's thing is he takes things he shouldn't. he'll eat an apple, he'll drink tea. he wants things. nilesy's thing is that he gives things he shouldn't. the debt got the hand he used to feed the kitten the milk kirin gave him will's debt will lock around his throat with the first swallow of tea

Dex: i like that. nilesy's around the giving hand, will's aroung the taking throat (in which i am nilesy

Lucy: will vs nilesy, wow such good observations i sort of want nilesy's tenure at kirin's store to overlap a bit with will's lessons. the casual and careless way will blusters in and incurs debt and takes things, and the way kirin smiles every time he does, and the hot feeling it gives nilesy to see the difference between them 

Dex: any more will+nilesy interaction will put me in a happy place

Lucy: Nilesy sort of wondering if he should warn Xeph maybe? Kirin having a teapot on a lamp, and Will coming in from the cold and helping himself to a cup

Dex: now i just really want tea...

Three: me too

Lucy: Will taking a sip and frowning, helping himself to Kirin's honey and asking Nilesy if he wants a cup?? (how would that would, debt-wise, would it all be will's debt, could nilesy have a cup if will makes it for him)

Dex: (i think debt-wise, that falls under the category of 'offering something you don't actually own') (meaning the debt goes on will's tab, not nilesy's)

Lucy: ffff Nilesy sheepishly having tea as Will waits for Kirin, and Kirin walks in and blinks at them, then looks at Will and smirks.

Dex: (basically if will offers without any prompting and knowing that the item offered is not his to give, he is volunteering to take up the debt of that item) it's kinda like will is doing the legwork for him, in a sense

Summer: nahhh nilesy still drinks it knowing it's kirin's and he shouldn't have it they both get charged for it will for claiming it, and nilesy for taking it when offered they're already both basically kirin's now, tho

Dex: aha. clever and i guess if we go back to the very first headcanoning we did, nilesy was stashing things from kirin he knew he wasn't supposed to have from the get-go

Summer: yep

Lucy: I just really love Will casually taking on debt, and Nilesy is barely not hissing at him what are you bloody doing

Dex: fae incense stinking up the house and all that

Summer: and nilesy getting coaxed to accept the tea so easily

Lucy: faerie pot incense Nilesy having such mixed emotions. If he did what Will does, Lomadia would strangle him. but he's also jealous in a way.

Summer: will with his hand on the teapot handle "will, that's kirin's"

Dex: it's that old 'smothered child' resentful mentality rearing its ugly head again

Summer: will looks up and frowns. "of course it is, I wouldn't take it if it were for a customer"

Lucy: fff will's been communing with he city in the middle of winter, he wants some fucking hot tea

Dex: like when he gets to hang around with the cool kid and be like 'wow, you're allowed to do so much'

Lucy: kirin fucking set it up and left it there knowing he'd come by later

Dex: [it's a trap]

Lucy: it's courtesy hospitality

Dex: it's hook line and sinker is what it is

Summer: hahaha

Dex: 'that's some horrible weather out there. it'd only be common courtesy to just... leave some tea'

Dex: seems legit and totally not a trap u guise

Lucy: Dex, Kirin is thinking of poor Will, okay

Dex: of course he is. in a collar. i mean. in the cold, poor boy

Lucy: haha Kirin walking in, asking if Will's eaten lunch, touching Will's shoulder right by his neck. nilesy is almost scandalised

Dex: AH that was an idea i had earlier i imagined nilesy creating himself some kind of basic low-power glamour-disruption charm, purely out of curiosity concerning magic folk in the city

Lucy: /chinhands an ointment under the eyes

Dex: though, it has the unexpected effect of managing to reveal the tendrils curled around his wrist '...oh.' things seem a lot more real when you can actually see them.

Lucy: sjdklfj /laughs hysterically. god let him see Will. Please.

Meaghan: ooooohhhhhhh shit

Dex: yup. will comes next

Three: damn

Meaghan: yes pls let him see the shit will's got himself in

Summer: [a massive leafy plant walks into the shop] hi nilesy, is kirin in

Dex: the part with him being scandalised by kirin's touchy nature around will happens first

Lucy: Green thread? nah. A ribbon around his next that spiders out down his shoulders and loops over and over around his arms and is knotted around his wrists, curls up around will's ears...

Dex: though the next time will visits the shop while he's working, nilesy's so preoccupied thinking about what he's seen on himself, he's almost forgotten to look at others of course, then he looks up

Dex: and sees the loop around will's neck. and suddenly things begin to make a lot more sense 'a little late to tell xephos now...'

Lucy: this is what happens when you don't have a lomadia

Dex: (oh you know what he'd do to apply the glamour disruption? charm his glasses)

Lucy: ooooh nice yes

Meaghan: yes i approve

Lucy: thinks, for just a moment, about giving it to Will

Meaghan: i'd charm the shit out of my glasses

Dex: same

Lucy: (CHARM GLASSES TO NEVER SMUDGE)

Summer: "I thought Lomadia settled my debt," says Nilesy quietly.  Kirin doesn't even look at his wrist. "Did she?" he grins. "Does she have the power to settle your debts?"  Nilesy hastily amends his statement. "I thought... the deal she set up? Wasn't this supposed to end?" "It did," said Kirin, "And something new grew in its place. This is between you and me. You've made a lot of choices since then, Nilesy."

Three: gaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Kirin is so creepy terrifying

Lucy: this is how the fae work, Nilesy i fucking love it

Dex: i do wonder how kirin would react when he learns that nilesy knows

Lucy: this is 5000% my jam

Summer: kirin of course knows what's up instantly

Dex: cause nilesy would slowly start noticing things around the shop

Lucy: the same way he does with Lomadia, i imagine

Summer: finds a way to pet will in front of nilesy, and nilesy watches the leave bloom out towards his touch

Dex: and he'd be terribly obvious taking his glasses off to clean them unceremoniously every so often like he's seen somethe he shouldn't

Lucy: taking them off because he needs to stop seeing it for a while

Dex: gah, kirin playing up to it. knowing that nilesy can see exactly what he's doing

Summer: touches nilesy on the wrist, holding him gently, turning his hand to look at a seedling in his hand, and nilesy watches the green around his wrist yearn towards kirin's skin

Lucy: sees it happening, and feels it in his chest

Summer: Nilesy wants to put the seedling down and touch Kirin

Dex: gets his first inkling of just how deep this whole thing goes all he can do is think of will. will who has no idea

Summer: that's the thing, if kirin had his way, nilesy would have put the kitten down instantly to pay attention to him and, well, kirin got his way by being patient nilesy turns towards him like a sunflower following the sun

Lucy Zephyr: Nilesy getting used to seeing Will around, asks him one day how often he sees Kirin, he rarely buys anything. Will smiling tightly and mentioning something about lessons. And then Nilesy wants to ask how he's paying for lessons, but also is terrified to hear the answer.

Summer: hahaha god yeah

Dex: hooo boy

Summer: Nilesy's paying for a kitten he can't imagine what magic would cost

Dex: i hope nilesy's glasses aren't charmed during that conversation

Meaghan: pfft god will is SO screwed in every sense

Dex: yyyyup

Lucy: And Nilesy is almost jealous

Summer: everyone is screwed, sooner or later

Dex: oh nilesy

Lucy: Kirin is a part of the city they live in. Hide behind your thresholds. Only they will protect you.

Lucy: (The only people I see as havign no debt are Xephos and Honeydew, tbh)

Dex: just a thought... though the charm nilesy uses is a weak one, i do wonder if one day, kirin deliberately lets the strength of the glamour he uses to hide his antlers etc fade to a lesser level. nilesy gets quite the surprise, of course 'it's unwise to go looking... especially if you're not prepared for what you might see.'

Lucy: i am sad every day that UMY Kirin glamours away his antlers

Summer: he probably lets the tail slip first around nilesy because nilesy would love it

Lucy: and feels so vindicated, he totally knew he felt it sometimes

Summer: it's adorable and fluffy and the perfect sort of 'vulnerability' to show him  to show nilesy that he's inhuman, and sure he's keeping secrets, but they're reasonable secrets, people certainly would judge him unfairly for the tail like, you do not start by showing nilesy the lightning, you start with the fluffy tail and ease him in

Lucy: absolutely. i really want that plan to derail a bit with him seeing WIll tho. Like, he sees his own debt and that's scary. He sees shimmers of a tail, that's less scary. Then Will, and it's back to terrifying and real.

Dex: that's what happens when nilesy does something like that, with unanticipated results kirin didn't quite factor that small detail into the long game

Lucy: does he charm his glasses to see through low-level glamour permanently or does he let it go

Dex: i think he probably makes it something he can deactivate at will. tap on, tap off

Lucy: how very modern checks his own debt once a week

Summer: nahhh

Lucy: tries hard not to use it around Will because it makes it hard to look Xephos in the eye

Summer: Lomadia would do that sort of thing

Lucy: I imagine a charm like that is hard to make.

Summer: Nilesy would try to forget it because it's scary, and forget it successfully because Kirin is kind and sweet and wouldn't hurt him

Lucy: Expensive faerie materials that are hard to get without Kirin

Dex: all i know is that it'd be bit much for him to have on all the time. he's learnt him mistakes as far as that is concerned

Meaghan: i feel like he'd let it fade away the first time, but constantly be on the verge of asking kirin for the materials necessary to charm it again almost getting the words out then thinking better of it

Lucy: Lomadia having a looking glass that she keeps wrapped in cloth except when she surreptiously checks Nilesy with it

Summer: and kirin winking at him and brushing his tail against nilesy's ankle

Dex: kirin u lil shiet

Summer: because if nilesy wants something, all he has to do is ask

Lucy: Also he... knows about Will's debt? And Will is fine? Is actually opening up a lot more over time, treating the city like home instead of like an awkward stranger. So Kirin cannot be so scary, he's not eaten Will alive and that collar isn't choking him?

Summer: and mr cat is certainly fine

Dex: does he ever bring mr cat back to visit

Summer: mr cat very thoroughly belongs to nilesy, and he's flourished for it. he's fat and happy and affectionate

Dex: i just got visions of mr cat going after kirin's tail...

Lucy: skldfj so cute

Summer: hahaha yes

Lucy: also Kirin flicks his tail against Will's nose and he swats it away, "Stop that," because Will sees it of course
