neodymium and cobalt, which aren’t actually crystals, fuse to make tanzanite (or iolite) because i apparently have zero understanding of geology or chemistry
Neodymium’s gem is diamond-shaped, but was completely shattered as he was escaping a Kindergarten. He’s only able to use his gem because the shards embedded themselves in his face and eyes when it shattered, effectively blinding him. (however he is able to move pieces of the gem to resemble pupils when he needs to not look creepy) His weapon is elemental, a bit like Lapis’, but instead of water, he controls electromagnetic energy. This includes dark matter and, yes, magnets.
Cobalt’s gem is circular and on his collarbone. His weapon, electrical energy, is actually very dangerous, but he manages to control it effectively. He’s obsessed with all kinds of science, especially physics and (of course) geology, and will go to extreme measures for scientific discoveries, even risking the lives of himself or others to perform experiments or research.
They fuse to make my gemsona Tanzanite, who also goes by Iolite, and who is surprisingly stable and good-natured compared to the personalities of their base Gems. Tanzanite’s weapon, on the other hand, is EXTREMELY unstable, as it’s basically just a giant black hole. Tanzanite is able to control it by literally altering the laws of physics and gravitation immediately surrounding the black hole to avoid dying by gem spaghettification. And by never using their gems in combat.Â
