Honorable mention to my gemini rising mother - a fun, sociable teacher, who instilled in me the love of learning, languages, reading and writing.

Gemini risings are ruled by mercury the intellect, the messenger of the sun (sun god). The intermediary between humans and gods. They intellectualize everything. Literally everything. Even what can't be intellectualized or put in words. Can you intellectualize intuition, love, hate, feelings in general... Can you intellectualize the divine union with a higher power, which is the ultimate goal of spirituality?

All that a gemini rising wants is freedom. Travelling. Adventures. They want to be as free as a bird and do not like to be tied down. They have aquarius in the 9th house - aquarius rules wishes. 9h stuff is what they wish for, which is travel, adventures, higher education, freedom, spiritual pursuits. 9h is good cadent house, the House of God, the joy of the sun (soul).

Geminis have sagittarius in the 7th house so they're attracted to people who embody these traits, who trust their intuition (jupiter exalts in cancer), who are spiritual, who do not intellectualize everything. Geminis want to embody these traits themselves. But it's hard. Why?

Taurus 12h - it's hard for them to "slow down and smell the roses" cause they're always on the rush. Cancer 2h - self worth changes based on moods and also they spend money or refuse to spend based on mood swings. Venus rules 12h AND 5h, romantic relationships might happen with a hidden enemy (12h).

And before 9h there's 8h. And capricorn 8h - they are afraid of all the 8h stuff. What are the 8h stuff? Anything that can't be explained rationally. Depth. Intuition. Intense passions. Jealousy. Possession. Feelings. Sudden events that make no sense at first. Spiritual epiphanies. They are afraid of them because they can't rationalize them with their intellect and mind. But they're the stepping stone to the 9h freedom they crave.

So once they stop trying to rationalize anything and surrender to what they can't rationalize, they attain physical, mental and spiritual freedom. Trusting their intuition and tapping into the depth of their feelings takes time (capricorn 8h) but the result is worth it cause they find the freedom they crave for after that.

They can approach spirituality then in a spiritual as well as intellectual manner. They can do both, which makes them powerful. It helps them to literally embody mercury - be the messenger of the divine. They can write, translate and publish books on religion/spirituality, or translate scripture, or teach divination, astrology, occultism...
