“Miss Rose. To what do I owe this visit?”

He was beginning to think that this was a pattern. Grimm came, they were fought off, people were afraid from the attack, and more grimm came in response to that fear. He’d lingered in the town, despite the warnings from the voice in his head, in hopes of helping and raising the people’s spirits, but when a truly dangerous attack came, he found his body left him few option, but to gather the children that had been drawn to his show and shield them with his magic between a few buildings. 

He’d worried, for a moment, that the attack would outlast his magical stamina, but then the sounds of battle had changed. It seemed it was no longer a fight between grimm and the ones brave enough to fight them. True huntsmen had arrived, and from his spot he caught sight of a young girl in red, that moved with a trail of rose peddles. 

Then, when the battle was over, it seemed only right to say thank you.

“Pardon me,” he called, breaking away from the small crowed with a confident stride, despite the way he relied on his walking stick. More than a few his little followers skittering off and abandoning his cloak tail in the face of real huntsman, but he knew they’d find their ways home safe, now. “I wanted to thank you, so, a flower for a flower.”

Too bad for Ruby, it was time for the Headmaster to refresh his cup. Stepping into the dining hall, he’d see her with the distinct pot with the orange ring, noting that the contents were decaf, or at least had been. 

“Miss Rose,” he chuckled. “As much as I think you believe you’re being funny, I can assure you this is not a prank you want to follow through with.”
