Hey, everyone! So the much anticipated town roleplay created by our amazing fellow admin Aleeza, has officially been made! You can go ahead and take a look around, it’s currently not open for public yet but you may send in your applications for your characters over there.

So early today, we’ve been informed that one of our members have received anonymous hate and for those members who may’ve been involved or hurt or scared off by the situation, we’d like to deeply apologize for it. The anonymous feature here is used for fun and harmless questions (as stated, so many times in our honesty hour posts to never personally attack our muns) and we’re sad to see someone misusing it.

I’d like to remind you guys that if you ever, ever feel the need to talk about something regarding our dash or members or if there’s anything that’s making you uncomfortable, you can always contact our main. Again, this has been stated multiple times. Our main is always open for applications, suggestions, questions, criticism or complaints and we’re always trying our best to discuss it since we want our members to always feel comfortable here. I’d like to believe we’re all mature enough to be able to just talk about these things, and trust me, problems are better solved that way and it wouldn’t create any unecessary tension between us. The admins are here not to just promote the blog or accept characters. We’re here to listen and answer and ensure our members’ safety.

Now onto the mobile issue. While we’re aware that it can be pretty off-putting to see too many mobile posts, please remember that there are people who’re going through some really hard situations in real life and they’re here to escape and take their mind off of them, sometimes their computers are unavailable or their conditions aren’t allowing them to be online and use proper gifs, et cetera. That’s what roleplaying is for. Sometimes we’re here to build our writing, create thrilling and memorable and weird ass stories, sometimes we’re here to escape whatever the hell is going on out there and do faster replies, sometimes we’re here to do all of that or just one, and that’s okay. We have a long variety of amazing muns here who would be willing to either do really long paras for character building, or just the short ones. All we ask is that you put effort in your threads, keep in mind about the theme of this group (the character’s disorders, etc), not clog the dash with more than three-reply limit, and make sure it isn’t something entirely lackadaiscal. Again, we want all parties to be comfortable with the dash.

We’d like to apologize again to those who’ve been affected by this. Hopefully, nothing malicious will happen again in the future and if it does, feel free to contact us. Some of the admins are being knocked down by real life too, so please bear in mind to try and approach with amiability. It might take a bit for us to answer, but we’re here and we’re willing to listen. If you’d like to contact me in a more casual atmosphere, you can always contact my main here @clcbberinheath.

Alright, so as you guys may’ve heard, we’re starting a new feature this month and that is chatzy therapy and group sessions that we’ll hold up every few days/weeks or so. We’re hoping that this will give you and your muses a chance to develop and witness their progress while they’re being admitted here, as well as seeing how the staff-patient relationship dynamics are working out. We’re going to start off small, only one doctor per session with one to five people in it, and not do this weekly; however, if this becomes successful we’ll be opening more doors for more sessions a month and such.

Here’s how it’s going to work, please read carefully:

There’s a sign up form below for those who’d like to participate; patients, doctors, guards, nurses, and orderlies; the latter three are all permitted to join the more physical therapy incase it takes place in a more open area, their jobs are to ensure supervision and the safety of both the patients and the one guiding them. However, most of the normal sessions fortify confidentality and will take place within an office, with only two people at most, unless it’s a group therapy.  Once we have enough doctor and patient volunteers, we’ll round them up and the main will post a schedule about a few days before a session begins, just to give some time for the participants to get ready. Sessions will likely to occur more during the weekend.

When a chatzy session is on-going, none of the non-scheduled patients will be able to see it until the chatzy is over, this is just to make sure there won’t be any disturbance; the therapists will later post the conversation on their character’s blogs. So for the therapist muses, make sure to save the conversation after each session.

The doctors and patients will be paired up randomly until we’re certain that this new feature is working greatly, however, if a muse would like to request a specific therapist for their single session, please contact the main and we’ll arrange something for you.

A session will take place about two-three hours in real life time, but could end as quickly as you’d like, make sure both parties have agreed for it to end however. If a patient forces their way to leave a session, or causes a chaos during group therapy, there will be consequences. 

Group sessions house three to five patients. We’ll start off with three, and add more should they work efficiently.

We’ll attempt our best to arrange the appropriate schedules so a lot of people can participate. This is not mandatory, therapy can (and is) still go on on off-IC, but we’re highly encouraging you to participate so that we can truly see the characters’ progress.

Alright, everyone. To further explore and get to know the wonderful muses even better here, we’ve decided to drop in another task for you to fill out. This is not necessarily a mandatory task, but it is very, highly encouraged for you to do. Delving in into our characters helps us rebuild our writing muse, and let us know about the little facts or quirks that we haven’t gotten the opportunity to share before!

The task is much simpler than our previous ones. All you have to do is answer the questionnaire that’s posted below and you have until next Saturday, May 6th, to finish and post it using the #gditask003 tag. If there are questions that’re not fitting to your character, you’re allowed to skip or simply put N/A, but make sure that you answer as much as you possibly can! It doesn’t have to be very detailed but feel free to elaborate if you’d like to.

For members with multiple muses, you don’t have to do this for all of your characters. However, if you have more than 4, it is encouraged that you at least participate 2 of your characters. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the main. Have fun!

Full Name: Renée Elma Brandenburg Age: 46 Faceclaim: Constance Zimmer Two positive traits, two negative traits: Pragmatic and honest, bitter and stubborn How long have they been working as a psychiatrist, have they ever been a head psychiatrist before?: She’s been working as as a psychiatrist for twelve years after she completed her residency. She took a break a few years back to nurse her injuries. Are they new to Glendale or not?: No, she’s currently working as a psychiatrist at Glendale.

Renée grew up in a middle class family to a German migrant father and an American mother. Even as a child, Renée was a confident person, perhaps a little too confident for her own age. As she was small and agile, she started showing promise in gymnastics and that was something that her parents pushed. She was always outspoken and that didn’t bode well with her father; he was a tough man, one that held old-fashioned values very dear to him and one that demanded respect from all those around him. Her mother was weak in that aspect, she quit her job when Renée was born and didn’t go back because her father wanted her to stay at home and look after their daughter while he ran his business. She was always wary of him growing up but it was only when she was around ten that she noticed his strange behaviours. Always feeling like her mom was always unhappy, Renée tried to make her feel better but nothing seemed to help her. No matter how many medals she won her father was disappointed in her performance. It used to upset her and she felt like she was never good enough; when she didn’t do well her father would just ignore her for days and her mother used to tell her how well she had done.  

Nothing was the same after he lost his job. He hit the bottle and became physically aggressive towards her and her mother. The money stopped coming in so her gymnastic lessons were cancelled and there was nothing she could do about it. However, the girl got a job so that she could continue with them. One day when she came home from school, she found her parents fighting and witnessed her father hit her mother. She wasn’t about to make excuses for him anymore; she wanted to get them both out. Being as stubborn as she was, she’d step in front of her mother to take a beating time and time again; she was strong, she could handle it. Renée kept her head down and managed to get into medical school to become a psychiatrist. She had always been there for her mom and she knew how to help people without being condescending. She also met her fiance, Thomas whilst completing her residency and everything was looking up. Her mother had escaped her father and she had a great job, lover and house.

At the time of her car accident, she was pregnant with their first child but lost it. They both had their careers so it was a pretty late pregnancy but she was getting the care she needed and they were happy. A drunk driver was speeding, going out of control on turns and smashed into her when she was driving back home from work. The doctors were surprised that it didn’t kill her. It look her a long time to get back on her feet. The woman hated that she couldn’t do things alone for the first year; her dignity was lost and she couldn’t really control anything. Her fiance stayed even though tensions were running high and the last thing Renée wanted to be was pitied. She received a lot of physical therapy. As soon as she was on her feet, he left, just as she thought he would. However, it didn’t seem to bother her at the time as she didn’t need him to be constantly watching or looking after her; she needed some freedom. She’s still really bitter about the accident as this affected everything and people can see the anger in her. As soon as her mobility was somewhat restored, she started practising again and then applied to Glendale. For too long, she has watched people suffer under poor management and Renée wants to change this. She’s a bitter but honest woman who doesn’t really care for formalities but seeing her in this position will definitely challenge her. She’s always been one to break rules herself but this will force her to look at things from a different angle however, she’s always extremely honest and could be more sensitive if she tried. The woman feels like she has a lot to prove; she’s not just the doctor with the cane.

Congratulations @drbrandenburg / Eleanor ! You’ve been chosen as the new head psychiatrist of Glendale. After a lot of reviewing and thoughts, we’ve decided that Renee would fit what we required for the position and further possible plans that we have in the future. You’ll be contacted by the admins from now on to discuss about plot drops and such, so make sure to have yourself prepared. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the main!

For the other applicants, thank you so much for your time and participation. All of you did wonderfully, and I’m so honored to have your interest in this project and group in general. We’ll be keeping your applications (unless you’d rather we remove them from our inbox) because know that plots will continue to happen and things can change, and we’ll make sure to remain in touch with you guys to let you know what we have in store.

Admin Winnie here, I’m just here to remind and encourage you to pay more attention to the open starters if you can, especially when you see some that have zero to little notes or have only been replied by a couple of members--again, this isn’t directed towards anyone in particular, it’s just that lately we’ve been seeing a lot of starters popping up--which is not a bad thing whatsoever, but we’ve also noticed a few that got neglected. We understand that life gets busy and sometimes certain muses just don’t mesh together, but from my experience at least, even some of the most unexpected interactions can result in very interesting plotlines!

Secondly, we’d like to see less closed starters. We’ve been seeing quite a lot these past couple of weeks -- it’s fine to pop up one here and there, but if it’s too much, it really closes up the opportunity for those who’d like to attempt an interaction with your characters and for the muns who’re a bit uncomfortable talking OOC beforehand or who just prefer to wing it. We have a great bunch of amazing, well-written characters here, and we’d love to seem them branch out and interact with one another! This is not to say that we’re shutting down closed starters, we’d just like to see them less. Try your to best to make one only if you really, really are incapable of posting an open at that point, or the specific interaction is very crucial.
