GBACW: Rutherford’s Farm turn 1

The Battle of Rutherford’s Farm is set in 1864 at the tail end of the American Civil War.

Lets see how this learning scenario unfolds for us. Both sides draw their efficiency markers which will determine how many activations they get. The Union receives 4 and Confederates 3.

The Battle of Kernstown 2

This is from the Great Battles of the American Civil War  

The Death Valley module which is an amazing value bundle. This will be my first play through. My intent is to try and do some side by side play solo with the physical counters and maps which are a Charles Kibler extraordinary set of period art.

The Devil’s Own Fun Map A - Johnston’s HQ Shown in Upper Left Hand Section.  A little trouble locating the specific section from the Gilmer map, but it’s pretty close.

The accounts of the battle of Seven Pines mentions that Joseph Johnston met with his generals the night before the battle to review the plan.  But the specific location of where this was is sketchy.  Because the various maps from the area are not entirely accurate with regard to scale, spatial relationships and names of homeowners, it’s tough to identify places with complete confidence.
