You are asking someone who has fiddled with 3 basic homebrew concepts! I will pick one, as the other two are either not that interesting or stepped on the "what made it interesting" that someone else already made.

If I were to make a faction for Firelock 198X, I would make a splinter-faction to the New Rygolic Host. They are all about trying to replicate the kilns and constructs of the Master Brain - but they have made utter failures to recreate that advanced (and possibly alien) technology. But instead they created rather passable clones of the Drone technology.

So, they would augment their average and small-in-number army with rather slow, rather dim, but rather tough Drone infantry and Drone vehicles (including purchased old Veldjens with the crew replaced, beep boop). Perhaps using a rather poor imitation of the Rygo Network system, but as I thought about it it might be fun to have a parallel Command system.

(For those not in the know, your "HQ Units" generate tokens that they can spend to order several units in close proximity at once instead of doing it one by one - and risking some units are not activated in a turn because Command points are a finite resource)

So some TACOMS would generate more Command points and some would less, but those that produce less Command points generate more "Drone command points" that can only be used for units with the Drone keyword. I haven't looked at it in awhile, but that would be the general premise.
